Thats ironic, I saw oakey in detroit just a month ago and 4 different vinyls skipped in a <2hour set. however he didnt even seem to care or bother to fix them until they resulted in massive trainwrecks. just stood up there leaning against a wall and holding his hand out to the crowd, pretending to be god. I opened this thread in hopes that he was actually retiring, I guess I'll have to wait. he put on probably the worst show ive ever seen (however the masses still loved it) |

| Oakenfold used to be the man pre 2000 when he played goa, he is no longer. He tried to reinvent himself in the US as he was sick of the UK trance scene, but failed miserably. |

| I dont see why people think that the perks these DJs get is so unreasonable. I've seen the riders for people like Madonna and some other pop stars in the US and damn they really ask for an arm and a leg. They are specific to the brand and number of bottles of water in the room, how much fruit they need, the size screen tv they want in their room, and on and on and on. Its not that unusual. |

The only thing Oakie could whip up now a days is a vegetable smoothie I JUST SAW THIS GUY 2 WEEKS AGO, A MAN I LOOKED UP TOO, AND HE TOTALLY ING BLEW THIS MAKES TIME NUMBER 3 HES SUCKED ASS. Whether or not he is I think he shoud I mean if hes goona parade around doing crap shows with horrid mixing I mean the only thing I can think of is that hes deaf, but then again if peopple keep paying the 30 to 50 bux to see him then by all means he should take it but I mean this guys time is far from now, actually Im quite sad to write this seeing how much I used to love the guy. |

Saw him back in 2001 and he was still a quality dj. Saw him back in 2002 and he was not even close to his previous performance. Left the club feeling cheated. Earlier this year he came, and I passed on seeing him. Nevertheless, if he's still making all the cash flow that's his business and those who pay to see him.
No one denies that he was once on top of his game and that he was a great influence to EDM. However, if you still think he is the then your just jaded and in denial about it. |
