Oakenfold Laughs Off Retirement Rumours
Veteran superstar DJ Paul Oakenfold has dismissed rumours that he's about to
give up DJing, telling the Liverpool Echo 'I'm about to go on a five-week tour
of America, of course I'm not retiring."
"I absolutely love DJing - that's what I do," the trance-pop guru added.
"Where do they get these things?"
One possible source could be rival jock DJ Tiesto, who spoke out about his
'great friend' in a recent interview with Mixmag.
"I respect what he does and the way he presents himself but I think he's
finished with dance music," Tiesto suggested.
"He's done it all, he's been everywhere and done everything, so dance music's
not his passion any more."

What are you talking about?
BT has moved on from his (brilliant) trance past, and he is experimenting with new things, instead of sticking with the same formula and becoming stale as a producer.
He is also involved in film scores, collaborations and producing for other popular artists such as N'Sync (hey, the song was catchy, and he probably made lots of $$$ from it, which isn't a bad thing at all).

firstly im a fan of bt because many of his older productions are amazing. my name does not state that i still think he is 'the man'. in fact im less keen on his current style. this does not stop me appreciating tunes like flaming june etc.
secondly, rating people's musical knowledge on the basis of how many posts they have made on these forums is retarded. i dont think i would be the only one to think that oakenfold has seen better days and is hardly 'the man' at the moment. if you really imagine that the act of posting more often on these boards makes you more qualified to pass judgement then all you are proving is that it has made you extremely narrow-minded. |

| Poor Oakenfold forgot to mention, he still loves getting the free coke as an A list deejay and working 6-8 days a month and still a millionaire is not bad either. Oakenfold is not worried about Tiesto because he forgot to tell the press that Tiesto will pull an oakenfold circa late 2000 (i.e HIT ROCK BOTTOM!). Let's see if Mario will take me on, I think my post count speaks for itself and Oakenfold is , deal with it. Former greatest dj on planet earth, those times won't be forgotten but now relagated to former hasbeen, still touring to make coin off his name. |
