I can't believe how many otherwise intelligent people turn into completely crackpots when the subject of Bush comes up.
Yes, he's not the greatest president of all time.
Yes, his economic policy and public speaking skills suck large.
Yes, he's not the sharpest tool in the shed.
But a nationwide conspiracy? Faking terrorist threats to keep himself in office? Ok yeah, you really do have to be drunk or high to come up with that. One minute you're bashing Bush for how much of a moron he is, the next minute you're telling us he's capable of manipulating the entire American public into believing that foreign allies are really enemies à la 1984.
Which is it, folks? Is he a moron or a diabolical genius? Ya can't have it both ways. He can't be a slobbering ape *and* a criminal mastermind.
It's far more likely that he's just a typical, right-wing, conservative, patriotic American who loves his country but isn't really too bright when it comes to planning a nation, or really when it comes to anything else. I give you that he's pretty dumb, but most of the U.S. presidents have been pretty dumb.
Be careful of the left media that will spin any story to make a Republican look bad. They did the same thing with Reagan. Take a look at Clinton's track record though and you'll see that he was no saint either, and yet he hardly came under any scrutiny by the media. And since the American media didn't pay much attention to him, the Canadian media didn't have any juicy stories to rip off.
It's sad how Canadians need to constantly feed their egos by bashing Bush and the USA. They're not perfect but neither are we, and the fact that we just voted in the same Liberal government that essentially turned us into America Jr. really should bring to light the fact that we don't pay nearly enough attention to our OWN politics.
I don't know if it's an inferiority complex or what, but I'll tell you this: the most refreshing thing about being down in the USA is that Canada suddenly becomes utterly insignificant. They really don't give a flying about what's up north. And yet we here in Canada seem to talk about the USA non-stop. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely a good thing to be educated in international politics but when I say educated I mean educated, not peddling fanatically strong opinions rooted in almost no fact whatsoever.
How many people here have studied the current political situation in the USA from NON-MEDIA sources? Let's hear it. There are new books and papers and essays coming out all the time from people who have done their homework - have any of you bothered to read them or do you just believe everything you hear from Bush-bashers? |
The same people that are in power now (Bush and CO.) are the same people who helped concoct the 1991 "incubator baby 'Massacre' " that helped move PUBLIC opinion in FAVOR of going into Iraq during the first Gulf war. Essentially, a very well known public relations firm with the help of the givernment hired a young girl in her early teens, go infront of the international media and sob about the horror that she witnessed. She "witnessed" iraqi soldiers come into Kuwaiti hospitals and remove babies in their incubators and left to die on the cold floor.
What people didnt know at the time was that this young lady was the daughter of Kuwaits ambassador to the United states.
It was later revealed, after many millions of lives were lost in Iraq, that this was a sham. The young lady admitted to being hired and that she lied infront of the world!
Nevertheless, the Bush administration fueled this story in the media and in their argument FOR war knowing full well who the young lady was and what Hill and Knowlton were up to.

The point im trying to make here is that the current administration (being the same one as the reaganite inspired administration during Bush Sr.'s presidency) are known to fully advocate this type of deception and then retract it by proclaiming they were "misinformed"
BULL!!!!!!!!!!
These people are LIARS and that has been proven more than once...umm where are those WMD that Bush said there was "UNDENIABLE PROOF" they existed in Iraq?? Oh yes... i forgot....the administration was "misinformed" as Orielly idiotically spews out every night on the Fox network.
 |

| Please do not believe anything that this adminstration had or has to say. W Bush does not want the democrate to have great election year so he and his adminstration warning everyone that terrorist is going to attack. Believe me, terrorist are smarter than that. If they'll attack, most likely it is after the election. |

Just wondering, do you even realize that Canada is half a trillion dollar in debt compared to the 2.5 trillion USA debt? Why don't you put your money where your mouth is and show me who's more corrupt?

According to this... ALL debt in the whole country adds up to 750 Billion. So id say that in the federal dept that you are off that trillion figure by about half a trillion.

Oops, I stand corrected. I am off. I was taking figures from an analysis report and I'm sure I read it wrong. They keep changing the damn charts and data logs on me every 3 months. Sorry.
Jayx1, even though I made the mistake here, I know I posted the correct figure at another thread a while back, and I know you participated in that thread.
So, what was your purpose of correcting me.....were you trying to discredit me for the sake of digiNut or was it for another motive? I'm curious to know why or if you'll even reply? :conf: |

| No it was because i knew that the figure for the national debt was around half a trillion because i happen to know a few things about the politics and finances of this country. Dont go having a persecution complex on us now... |

Clinton was a wayyy better president. Just look at the situation in the middle east. WHen Clinton was in office he was working so hard to get some sort of resolution, and was doin well. Once Bush came in, it all went to . And this is where are this terrorism is stemming from.
Also, Clinton never came under any scrutiny by the media? Ever hear of Monica lewinsky? LOL |

Exactly... where exactly were these "weapons of mass destruction" Bush was always talking about? all the biological warefare... they stated that they had all the evidence, but obviously they had nothing, because they found nothing.
Bunch of liars in the whole admin... like someone else said, Bush is either a con artist, or a dumb ... in any case, he should be given the boot for starting a war for no reason, which is exactly what he did. |

^^^ no no...it's just that they can't tell us what the evidence is or from where they got it...you know, for security reasons...so we should just *trust* them.
yeah, right  :stongue: |
