Garfield, I give up, you win. Rap music is to blame for crime. I am the ignorant one, I will spend the rest of my life praying for all those "rappers" to quit with their relentless attack on socio-cultural values. |

he he.
since when are we talking about gansta rap. have any of you ever heard p.diddy? he is so far from gangsta rap as you can get.
i am surprised that people booed him because obviously they knew that he was going to be at that club. if you don't like p. diddy then don't go that that club on that night. |

i don't know about your parents but my parents can compete just fine. the first thing was probably that i wasn't even listening to too much music or watching tv, instead i was playing outside. by the time you are actually exposed to music and these artist, you should already have moral values. |

just goes to show the lack of "rap knowledge" being spewed in this thread.
"P Diddy is a gangster and there are guns in New York, therefore rap is terrorism. Bin Laden likes rap!" |

I love the PSB :D:D:D
By the way...your argument doesn't stand very well Halo...and I can easily prove it by recent attacks on the black community by the legendary Mr. Cosby...and if you need direct quotes about what he said I can easily find that for you ;)
Music and that specific culture that is tied to that music and portrayed in the videos has a HUGE influenece on kids today...if you think it doesn't you're just being naive...
*EDIT*
However P. Diddy is far from it...I have a lot of respect for him cause' as many already mentioned he's a brilliant business man and extremely hard working guy ;) |

Some of the best comedians in the world are actually very astute social commentators. They have to be, to find the humourous in the everyday things that most of us overlook. George Carlin and Chris Rock are just a few examples. But I digress...
Puffy getting booed of stage doesn't really come as any suprise when you recall that a few years ago the same thing happened to Armin van Helden when he experimented with hip hop during one of his sets. And AVH is actually a well respected house producers, so -- i guess all this really points to is that clubbers on the isle of Ibiza don't want to be exposed to Hip hop or Rap, when they've paid good money to get into clubs like Space or Pacha. They are comfortable with techno/house/trance/baleric beats and aren't really going to appreciate a change from the norm -- even if it comes from a superstar (if that's what he is) like Puffy. Fair enough, I say. Imagine Tiesto spinning cheesy trance at a rap concert. Forget about booing him offstage, he'd probably get capped by an irate hip hopper.( sterotypical or wishful thinking ? - i'll let you be the judge ;) )
Puffy probably over stayed his welcome on stage. I don't imagine one or two songs would have been a big deal (with minimal vocals i'll hasten to add)...but if Puffy thought he was performing in centrel park, then i'm glad he got heckled off stage. |
