But you have to realize that when you're put on the spot like that, sometimes it's hard to answer... even if you are the president. After all, he is a human being too. |
Maybe its just me, but one of the things I look for in a leader of a nuclear power is the ability to think well on his feet :).
That came off somewhat sarcastic, I'm sorry, that was not my intent. |

I haven't watched Fahrenheit 911, but after watching the Canadian segment of his previous "blockbuster" Bowling for Columbine, I would be very sceptical to completely believe anything that he says.
I would not be surprised if everything Michael Moore says is completely true.. to me the problem is WHAT HE DOESN'T SAY !
It's like taking a quotation out of context. That's exactly what Michael Moore is doing. He is showing only one side of the story, and doesn't tell the rest. |
There is a lot of people out there that don't trust Michael Moore because he has such a strong opinion.
In fact that's about all he says, opinions, and then cuts and pastes to his liking to make it sound like fact (and THAT is fact people).
It's easy to pick on the top dog, cause the higher you are on the ladder of success, the more your ass is exposed... |

| Why must people insist on calling it the "war" in Iraq. There is no war going on, it's an invasion and occupation, it was never a war. |

| Yes rip on Moore, he's biased, but if you honestly think the material in the movie is a lie, I don't know what to say. You don't think by now, someone would have stepped up and denied these things, I don't think anyone is calling Moore a liar, just opinionated, biased, and he manipulates things. The raw material at hand was not fabricated, nor were the facts. I love this line "it's only one side of the story". Does it really matter? There is no other part of the story that can make the one side ok. That's equivalent to me killing you with a gun, but agreeing that you should hear my reasons first before you decide whether it was ok or not. |

Well.. Imagine the following:
Person A kills person B, and the whole world learns about this and thinks that person A is this horrible killer. But what the whole world doesn't know, is that person B killed the whole family of person A prior to that and person A killed person B out of revenge, and well, B really deserved death.
That is an example of how "not enough" information can be really really bad.
I'm not comparing person A to US or anything like that here... I'm just showing that "not giving enough information" is almost as bad as telling a lie. |

You can't call it an occupation either...occupation is when Americans take over Iraq and run it...that's not exactly what's going on now.
Just like Israel isn't "occupying" Palestine. |

I'll ask you the same question that nobody else seems to be able to answer, including Michael Moore.
If Iraq had the WMDs before, but they don't have them anymore, then WHERE DID THEY GO?? There is no more evidence to support the assertion that they were destroyed as there is to support the assertion that they are simply hidden.
A lot of you are going to make really ty parents.
Dad: I thought I told you to take out the trash.
6-year-old: I did!
Dad: Then why isn't it out on the curb?
6-year-old: Don't worry dad, I took it out!
Dad: Let me look in the can...
6-year-old: No Dad, you can't go in there!
Dad: Why?
6-year-old: ...it's a secret.
Dad: I don't think you took it out. Mom says you've been sitting on the couch watching TV all day.
6-year-old: No, I took it out. I promise.
Dad: Oh okay, well since you put it that way, Mom must be lying to me.

That doesn't even make sense. It's like taking a bunch of puzzle pieces and jamming them together in a pattern that is totally not the way it looks on the front cover, and saying hey, who cares how else the pieces could be arranged, if I could arrange them this way then I've solved the puzzle!
The problem is that Moore's movie is very thin on "raw material". Yes his raw material is correct, but he makes "deductions" from those facts that simply aren't true, and tries to pass off those deductions as more "facts." Moore has the puzzle pieces but those really tell you nothing AT ALL until you put them together!
If any of you guys really want to look intelligent, why don't you actually read the reports instead of watching crappy movies and pretending to be educated. |

Obviously! As I said before, you'd prefer to take the word of a corrupt dictator who killed millions of his own people over that of overhwelming U.S., British, and U.N. intelligence? OK!!!
I may be arrogant quite often, but I wouldn't call this one of those times. When it comes to the current partisan battle in the USA, the majority of Canadians are depressingly uninformed. Since we only hear things from Liberal media outlets like Michael Moore and CBS news, we don't get the whole story over here. I happen to actively seek out the whole story, but many are content to believe whatever they hear. Which group are you in?

How about instead of making smartass comments that prove nothing, you put out a cogent argument to prove me wrong? |
