is it just me or has toronto really become over populated in the past 4 somewhat years?
today i'm driving in north york, and its bloody damn packed at 11:00 pm!!! ever since i came back from windsor (yes a dead town)it feels and seems as if toronto has expanded to a NYC jr. traffic is a bitch and a half, shopping is more confusing then ever bc there is more shops then ever before, ppl seem to be more carless about what they doo as well seem to be more rude.. i dont know maybe cuz i got used to the silent more relaxed windsor, toronto seems to packed, fast paced kind of town.. for me
a perfect example, in windsor there was a car accident on the highway, and well cops just stoped traffic and said to take a diffrent route... and i'm thinking... who in their right minds would stop early rush hour traffic on the DVP in tdot for a car accident..? and i mean stop to the point where ppl cannot drive by it.. they actualy have to get off the highway and use side sts to get to where they need to...
like what is your opinion on this? how toronto has become gradualy so large, and really populated? do you guys mind it at all? or are you just too used to it... would you move away for some peace and quiet or just stay in the buzy world... is it better for the economy to have more ppl in this city? can toronto hold it all? |

I don't think population affects traffic that much. I'm guessing more and more people are driving, instead of going around by different means.
Driving in Toronto is just lame.
Hence why I use TTC and sometimes Greyhound.
Save money and time. |

Toronto isnt overpopulated...its just that:
- our road system is built for a city of 2 million but tries to handle a city of 5 million.
- city hall makes it worse instead of better by changing 4 lane roads to 2 lane roads in order to install bike lanes that nobody uses. Not to mention the millions of useless speed bumps.
- our transit system is laughable which is why nobody uses it. Saying that its one of the best in North America isnt saying much either. Thats like saying that dog smells better than horse . :D
- people have lost driving ettiquette which frustrate people even more. Note: left lane is for passing, right lane for driving. In Europe they fine you for this. Forget photo radar, lets get the left lane hogs off the road. |

yeah and we live in a society that is far more dependent on cars for transportation... long ass cold winters don't help the situation either :whip:
