But i postulate that many people are thinking like this lately which is why the club scene seems to be losing mass exodusses of clientele. Not to mention that most of the music in clubs these days is garbage as well.

So maybe it's not just because of the smoke-free by-laws? ;)

I definitely feel the attitude problem. I guess it's partly because I've always been a little self-conscious so I notice these things more than most people. It's rare to find people who go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, except when they're trying to sell you something. There are some cool people, but also a lot of judgmental ones.

I agree with Jayx1

Hes proven his point...and I HAVE seen clubs lose clientel. 5 dollars for a bottle of water??...People in Africa pay less.

I've waited awhile in clubs...and what pisses me off is the in Bouncers who let people in if they spot them 15 extra dollars...

No club in Toronto is worth paying more then 15 dollars cover to get into the hole...simply because im not working an hour to get into a club...rather stay home n work on beatz

Sometimes i jus wanna pull that Blade Club Scene...dice people with my silver sword :disbelief

Sebastiano

P.S. StarSearcher he may seem to complain...but i've always seen him prove his point (most of the time :happy2: )

After having a VERY refreshing vacation in Europe this summer, all I can say that this city definitely needs to lose the attitude... clubs that make you wait in line for 2 hrs and then charge you $40 to get in, a bottle of water that costs $5, etc, etc. What a hell do you people think this is, Ibiza?

I know where I WON'T be spending my money...

i dont know where you went out in europe cause you'll find the same there x 5

I just got back from Europe as well...club scene there? Let's just say people there know how to party, whereas people here know how to look good and get ed off their . (Huge difference imo).

I fail to see how an incident in a seemingly swank restaurant paints a picture of the attitude of an entire city.

Stories like this are hardly limited to Toronto. Why one would attend an over-priced snob-fest intentionally is beyond me.

I for one have had the majority of my 8 years in this city be entirely positive. Maybe that's because of my attitude being more on the upswing than not, especially when dealing with people. I've found that in life you get what you give more oft than not, so perhaps all your negative experiences are a reflection of either the company you keep, or the environments you find yourself in.

Honestly guys, locaton may matter, but it's all about the effort you put into your night. The harder I party, and the more of an effort made to meet my fellow partiers/promoters/djs/etc, the more fun I have.

A good time isn't going to just "happen", no matter the continent you find yourselves on.

So true Rob. I mean I don't go around clubbing w negativity but it's just refreshing for a change of scenery...esp when the scene you're in can get stale (sometimes).

Alright well if we're already coparing TO and europe...there's nothing to even compare when it comes to looking good. People there are so much more conceous of fashion, trends, grooming, looking good...it's a way of style, it's a way of life....i'm sorry but in TO we are MANY MANY years behind Europe
Not to mention, if most of you see someone fashionable you'll automatically think they are pretentious, uptight just cause they are fashionable and have style...I see that every day so no bitchin' please

that's exactly what happened to me... I used to buy into the whole "TO is the best city in the world" BS.. then I went to Europe and saw way better cities... and my attitude changed

You said it... Canada may be way ahead of some European countries technologically and even economically, but that's why Europe is light years ahead of Canada socially. They know how to enjoy life...

Well, I went out to the "supposedly" expensive beach resorts, places filled with tourists, the most expensive clubs in my country, and to be quite honest with you not only have I not paid cover charge one single time but I haven't spent more than 10-15 euros per night for drinks and whatever else. And no, in most of those places there was no last call :D

And don't get me wrong, I'm positive all the time, from the moment I wake up in the morning til the moment I crash in my bed after a good night out. But I also feel a lot of bad attitudes in the city, negativity, all kinds of bad vibes, and that can bring you down sometimes... in Europe, it was totally oposite.
