The sign has already been destroyed by the Nazi. No matter how cool it might look or what it stood for in older times it will be always associated now days with Nazi-ism.

to be honest, I have secretly loved the nazi symbol, in a white circle on red (the classic look) ever since I saw Indiana Jones (especially 3, when he's in Berlin for the book burning and there are flags all over the place). So revered, powerful, and beautiful. Totally understood the OP; the image seems to exude power without even thinking about Nazism or its politics (in my mind at least; I'm able to separate all else when I enjoy art).
ps. yes, my taste in art is completely ed, I agree. |
