Basically for the girls.

So I came home after work tonight, and my roomie had dyed her hair. It looked really great, and I told her how I loved the way she had done her makeup. Well we go to talking, and she suggested I change my look.

I have had the same look for AGES! I have changed my hair quite a few times, but my clothing and makeup style has stayed the same forever!

So we tried some makeup styles on me, and I was looking hella hot, but I was just wondering if there are any tips or suggestions. It is hard for me to find the right makeup and style since I am so pale. I have VERY white skin, freckles and red hair. I have really cool eyes, so I know I need to highlight them, but how do I make them darker without making me look paler?

I cannot wear pinks, oranges, reds or yellows because it looks awful with the red hair, and skin tone. Any suggestions? Any websites that give good tips on what makeup to wear? I could use some help.

Here is a picture that shows the hair colour and skin colour.

HEEEEEELP!!!

Yay, a fellow red haired person. ^^

I hardly wear makeup anymore though... I tended to wear lighter, cooler colors for eyeshadow to go out when I was younger, and usually pretty subtly too.

beauty.about.com has a ton of tips for eye makeup as well :)

also,
" Traditional eye shadow rules of thumb are these:

# For almond-shaped eyes with a distinct crease, place the deepest tone on the outer edge of the lid and half way up into the crease, keep the inner half of the lid lighter.

# If you have narrow-shaped eyes with a small crease and want to use dark tones, keep them very close to the lash line, and consider highlighting under the brow bone.

# For round-shaped eyes, keep the deepest tone toward the center of the eye blending upward from lid to crease.

# For large lids, graduate tones, startine with a liner, then filling in with color to create depth.

# For small lids, keep tones light, or you'll tend to close up the area and make eyes look smaller.

# For eyes with no visible crease, try a deep shadow across the entire lid, then play with a fabulous midnight-blue or shiny black mascara."

I wear next to none, if any makeup at all. I usually put on a bit of under eye concealer and mascara but that's it. My roomie thinks I need to "spice it up" a bit, and being that I look like I am 12, I should try and "age it up" a bit too.

I find being so pale makes it hard.

Hmm...I used to wear concealer and mascara too when I was in University, nowadays I'm just too lazy unless I'm going somewhere where I'll be seen a lot.

I don't think lack of makeup makes you look older...if anything, it's usually the younger girls I tend to see have more on than anyone else. If you're trying to get a more mature look you should probably stick to earthier colours that don't tend to stick out much.

But then again, I don't wear much makeup, so don't weigh any of my advice too heavily. :p
