Sasha has countless remixes, andy how many would you say he has? close to 50? i think only paul has more. And are you going to tell me all of them are high quality?

A lot of his poor quality remixes are older. I bought the Sasha - Remixes vinyl without being able to listen to it. Ray of Light was pretty much the only one I thought was decent and I haven't even played it. His newer remixes I've heard are good, ie. Uncle - In a State. If you're gonna tell me his sound is as monotonous and hasn't changed along the same level as PVD, you've gone mad. Xpander to ADD to Involver the sounds are very different. You are fooling yourself if you disagree. Either that or you just like trance and haven't opened your mind to the differences within the progressive genre.

Crush is not pvd's original production. It was originally a Second Sun song by the same name that he reworked and then after further remixing usurped the credit for making it. Very bizzare to me...

i understand you, but all im saying is that paul basically has just released the tracks he has on his album + wir sind wir, which isnt flooding the market.

i would say Crush, NBY, Tool, Connected, wir sind wir actually all very different tracks, besides the kick & bassline which is totally different in trance compaired to progressive/house.

I don't know if I've heard wir sind wir, but the other four are quite the same. Especially the club mixes. Same pounding bassline, which was a great innovation, but he's riding it out too long. Same types of melodies. He may tweak them differently or have different patterns, but they are fairly synonomous. Add a male vocal here, no vocal here, those are the only real differences, IMO.

Nor is Nothing But You. Seems like he's doing a lot of that lately, but releasing it under his own name as opposed to as a remix.

Edit - At least he gave Hemstock and Jennings some credit, but feat.?

would you say that Sasha's sound progressed from Xpander to ADD or regressed? I know to most sasha fans Xpander/Rabbitweed/Belfunk are his best tracks. Involver is my least fav "production packet/cd" from him. As i own, Xpander EP, ADD, Gu 9/13/involver, unkle in a state(sasha remix), you own any?

seeing that crush was originally produced in pauls studio i find it hard to see that paul didn't have influence in the original.

It is apparent to me that you just like trance better, which is ok. And yes. I have Involver, GU13 on cd along with San Francisco and a ton of live sets. I have ADD, Xpander EP, the remixes, Artificial Heart, Unkle - In a State, and probably a bunch more I can't remember off the top of my head on vinyl. I will surely get Involver vinyl, just haven't bought any new records lately. Working on finishing a cd and don't want to change buy new records, tempting me to change my programming, even at the risk of having it not be all new stuff. Being that most people don't truly keep up with progressive and melodic progressive, I should be ok. I have to go home from work, but it was a fun debate and I'm sure we'll have more discussions in the future. :)

If that's true, it still doesn't take away from the fact that it was a song released by Second Sun. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big pvd fan...but for pvd to release "Paul van Dyk - Crush" just strikes me as a bit wrong.
