I actually did the right thing tonite and stayed home from both this event and Creamer & K @ Boa. My foot needs time to heal. How were both of these ******s???
tatgirl
Well, lets see... it's 5:30 am and we're home.

1st off, got to Guv and got some notice that the 'power blew in the Kool Haus' so all acts were moved to the Guv. No more need to choose who to see anymore. Some refunds & drink tickets were given at the door to those who paid the higher price for the KH party. Quite honestly, we all knew that it was moved into the Guv since it was obvious pre-sales were e. It was like an average Sat. nite at the Guv, and considering that was supposed to be 2 parties combined, that ain't good.

In short: Didn't catch any of Mark O, since he was getting off as we got in. Four Side was really different, but they were pretty good. Liebing owned for the 1.5 hrs he was on! Full of smiles & energy throughout, not to mention 'original dance moves'. ;) Parisio took a while to get going, but finally got things moving (another 1.5 hr set).

Picotto.... I think that went down as the worst set of the year. 2 hrs of going nowhere. No flow at all. He wasnt even into it at all. If I were the Guv, I would ask for a refund on that performance. Only tunes that were rocking the place at all were the house tunes, but FFS what were they doing in his set? Everyone just standing around, in disbelief. Only people who don't know any better thought it was good. Tunes he played were "Rocker"- Alter Ego, 'Tao Tek', Adam Beyer & Jesper Dalbach- 'Number In Between', "Call Me"(???)- Erik Prydes, New Order-'Blue Monday', Deep Dish- "Flashdance" (???)

Ended up walking out after 2 hrs of that torture. Such a shame. At least we got Picotto/ Meganite laniards.

even though im a mauro fan at heart i must admit (and be completly unbiased) that the set mauro threw out was awful. Where was the techno! the begining had number in between and tao tek (great bombs) but they were followed by cheesy crust!

Liebing was incredible, he was good at Roxy last i saw him, but he was 100 times better this time out! Everyone was jumping!

Some tunes he threw out
Nitzer Ebb - Muderous (Phil Kieleran Mix)
Adam Beyer - Heartbreakers (great new tune)
White stripes - Seven Nation Army (Liebing mix)
DK8 - Murder was the bass (Liebing mix)
Dave Clarke - sturgeon? (i have on vinyl gotta check)
Im sure there are others i dont remeber just now!

Parisio was great too. I never thought i would hear Josh Wink - Superfreak in a club again.......but gaetano threw it out.

Special thanks to danielle! great meeting you and thanks for the necklace.

and cheers to all the ta's present!

overall ratings
Side Four 8.5/10 (they had me jumping) GREAT WARM UP!
Liebing 10/10 Awesome! Nuff said
Parisio 8/10 a good transition. I thought the cuts were off! BIG TIME!
Picotto 5/10 No Flow. Aaron knows! boring!

1 highlight!

A guy was screaming for mauro to play komodo, i wanted to kick him off stage!

alright

Peace out!

Thank goodness I won a ticket from that contest for this event.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm for one night, I became techno addict, rather than trance addict, and I loved every minute of it! Cant feel my feet, must sleep, more of a real review tomorrow :)

Picotto was a big dissapointment :( For the last half-hour I was there the DJs were taking turns or something and that was cool. Who was the DJ with the shaved head? He was full of energy, much more enjoyable watching and dancing to a DJ who's enjoying himself compared to Picotto searching through CDs for 5 minutes just to play that pile of "Call on Me" I mean come on... Call on me? WTF?!
tatgirl
That would be Chris Liebing.
U can read my interview with him here:

Thanks, yeah, he was good... I'm sorry I missed him (stupid parents with the car!).

I had a great time chatting with Danielle, RJ, Vince, Fuad & 'Pete Tong Frank'. Had a laugh dancing on the cube behind that Mr. Show-off pouty-face who's sooooo into himself. Highlight for me was Chris Liebing, whom I'd never heard of before. I would rather go watch paint dry the next time Mauro Picotto comes to town, cuz that was a joke. Thanks to Shaya for the ticket.

Holy TECHNO, Batman!

While I was disapointed at the KH being closed and all, I actually had a great time and was dancing walking outta the Guv at 6:15 AM. Liebing stole the show! Everything of his set I liked - track selection, mixing, crowd interaction. Gaetano's set had good stuff too in the latter half. Mauro's set was alright - I enjoyed several parts of it. I rarely listen to techno, so i'm not really articulate on the subgenre anyways. Mauro also threw Meganite lanyards to the crowd, I grabbed 1 - actually two.. but ended up givin' the extra to some broad :haha:

When I left Guv it seemed like Mauro, Liebing, and one other DJ (?) were taking turns to close Guv. :D

As always, its good to party w/all you trance(techno)addicts.

kron
i tried to like the mauro set but i couldnt :nervous:
liebing was massive for sure. again... so friggin hot inside....
even though ive seen mauro more than 3 times... i actually wasnt sure if it was still him without look by the middle / end of his set.... whats up with the house tunes. he used to be harder : /
