the quicker people get it thru the head... this election had nothing to do with the WAR...it was about local issues and local policies... |
That was what i was venting about - the fact that many people only voted with their wallet in mind and they chose to ignore issues such as being lied to repeatedly by our head of state, Weapons of Mass Destruction (oh yeah, where are they?), the War In Iraq, the environment, etc. The credibility of our leaders is pretty important in my opinion and Howard has repeatedly duped the Australian people about important national issues. I think that the War In Iraq should have influenced the election, but many people have short memories and i seriously think that most people don't really give a , which really saddens me.
I concede that Howard won fair and square. He is a fantastic politician, and a master of wedge politics. He ran the better campaign and he won because of it. However, i don't think he is a good leader for our country.
As for your comment about labor having no policies, i don't really know what to say to that....have you been living in a hole for the past nine months??? Latham clearly outlined different policies for Health, Education, The Environment, The Economy, National Security/Terrorism as well as other key areas. You may or may not agree with them but they were definitely there and he provided an alternative to the liberals, unlike Beazley.

Oh please, get Bob Carr out! He's bough a plot of land in NZ, for when he loses the next election. Hahaha. I don't even think the Libs in NSW are much better, but Carr's ministers are fkn twats! They've raped everything. Don't get me started on public transport :whip: :whip: |
I totally agree, dude. Bob Carr has to go. He has been there for too long and there have been to many stuff-ups for us to tolerate. I am a strong Labor supporter generally but we need a change in NSW. |

Nurses get paid compared to teachers. I reckon thats a bit wrong. My bro is probably reading this (Hi Scott :D ), he'll probably agree with me.........
May I just remind everyone though that health care is primarily a state issue (so says the constitution). |

Apparently the Family First senator who may be the extra vote to form the majority in the Senate for the government wants to censor the internet for children and charge everyone who uses the net $15 a year. Hooray.
I'm planning to move to the UK next year, just hope Costello becomes leader sometime in the next 2 years. Or my local member Turnbull!
Just take your fat pension and retire please Johnny, havent you punished us enough :( :whip: |
