and that type of political propaganda is EXACTLY what we should be taking heed of..
Vote #1 Howard..
whilst i dont pretend to know everything there is to know at all, or even much on politics, the idea of Latham running the country is quite :nervous: to be honest... i think howard genuinely acts in the best interests of the country, whether the people agree or not, whereas i think latham would become a sucker to trying to please the masses and not thinking in teh bigger picture of the countries best interests. |

I'm seeing the UN turn into the League of Nations part 2. They never do . Sumeria, Rwanda, Bosnia, practically every military uprising and slaughter of innocent civilians hasn't raised the eyebrow of the UN. They don't give a unless it's impacting on the leading countries in some way
Why was the League of Nations replaced with the UN? THe League of Nations had no military force, so as much as they said "Bad Boy Hitler don't be bad" there was nothing they could do. That was spose to be the fixation of the UN, that it would have a fighting force(aka Peace Keeping). They just never use it. All I can see is another useless "lets sit around and be all democratic, while innocents are slaughtered" type organisation.
Sorry Churchill, looked like your dream and hard work didn't quite pay off. |

+1 here too... I don't think Howard has done such a bad job.
I lived in Campbelltown when Latham was Mayor there and it was a mess... there is a reason that place has the biggest Centrelink office in the southern hemisphere
I just don't think Latham can cut it. |

aus troops should never have gone to iraq. US troops should never have gone to iraq. we have a UN gor a reason. and i think the deaths and impairments of the results of the gulf war on innocent iraqi children far out weighs what hussein has done.
im voting liberal. its taken me ages to decide, but i think i will go with them. im upset that we ever got involved in that war, but i think a liberal government is the most stable and head strong we can elect.
the terrorism stuff is bull, mostly - but australia needs a strong leader at this point in time. howard is that, latham not.
one would think i would be voting greens, hehe, study environmental science / management or even labour - being a student. sure they have some good policies for now, but im more concerned about my future. my hecs may increase, which will suck - majorly, but at least once im out of uni having the security of a good liberal government will provide me with a more certain and stable future.
anyway, im voting liberal moreso to keep the others out. liberals have made some monumental ups, but i think that they are still slightly better than the rest.
in summation: kiss my private school educated, vegetarian, tree hugging yet conservative arse. |

Agreed!
I'm with Johnny, Latham as PM worries me.
While I don't like some things the Libs have done, I still reckon they would be better than Labour. Apart from a couple of policies I agree more with the Libs than Labour, some of whose policies I really don't think will work and who I can't trust to do the right thing.
I'm in a safe Lib seat anyway.
Senate - different proposition altogether. Not sure who I'll vot for, Liberals maybe, Greens definitely not, Democrats - haven't heard from them this campaign so I can't vote for them, Family First - maybe, first time ever I'd support a church group, Labour - maybe.
Maybe I'll randomly fill out every box below the line (all 60 of them:D ). Not bloody likely |
