1:00pm til 7:00am - now time to eat for the first time since Thanksgiving dinner.....and what better way to feed youre shriveled talking stomach than McD-O-N-A-L-D-s.....im ordering two of everything on the menu.

*Side note from the DT party* - who else remembers that turkey/gravy fart that someone ripped from the front at some point earlier in the night!?!? Me and Andy actually watched this thing move about 10 feet as the people it hit covered their faces as if a stink bomb had dropped.*

Supernature? Supernation? I dunno.
Got to the Docks at 5:30 after leaving the Guv. Stayed til 10:30. Didn't feel as it was up to par as the Boa gig, and the crowd started to dissipate quickly around that time. I didn't think it would last past noon. Those who had been there all night (esp. the DT 1st timers) said it was incredible. I felt it was more like a roller coaster going up & down, up & down. He did play a couple Faithless tracks too.

What a night! I have to personally thank each and every TA, you guys definately made my night.

10 pm to 3am - Dancing NON STOP!!! Everything kinda slowed down for me after that. Oh my tummy... Dunno what happened. I think I was dehydrating. Unfortunately we left a bit earlier than expected, but the time spent was well worth it.

I got to shake the hand of the man himself! He is truely a crowd pleaser. Highlight of the night - Danny bustin on the platform, pulling up his shirt to give his tummy a rub :stongue: Too funny. I'm honored and spoiled to have seen this man in action twice this year. Come back soon Danny, Toronto LOVES you...

Definately VERY impressed with the Docks. The set-up, the decor, the Dynacord was beautiful. I have to admit I was very skeptical of this venue, but my mind has changed. Thumbs up!

Jeffy a.k.a FloorWhore - My buddy ;) I missed you sooooo much. Great to whore it up with you again.

Chinaman - Always a pleasure. Thanks for the gum, it helped settle my tummy.

Crazedcanuck - You're too cute, thanks for the hugs. Be seein' ya real soon.

Jenna - Thanks for the chat (we're bad laughing @ people, but it was hilarious). Hope you warmed up

Shryer - Awesome to see your smilin face

Sly_Guy - SPACE... What happened to our space man? Good to bust it with ya ;)

The Highroller - Didn't get to hang as much as I wanted to... Next time for sure. Evan is great, bring him around more often.

Drew_Factor - You got groove man, great to meet you

To everyone else, sorry if i forgot to mention you, but you are all amazing. Thanks again. See you on the dancefloor soon!

Hey man, don't start with that... you know it was extenuating circumstances.

Anyway, for the review:

The set:
Danny's set on Sunday night was quite a bit different from his set at Boa. He still threw down plenty of hard and tribal tracks but not nearly as much, it was a lot more varied. In fact I think he played bits from just about every style - several times he would go from classic house to tribal house to tech house to trance and back to classic house, and would do it totally seamlessly, you wouldn't even really be able to pinpoint where things changed in his set. So we got to see Danny shine in a different light this time.

I remember saying to a few people that part of the magic of a Danny Tenaglia set is that 9 out of 10 tracks he puts on are tracks you've never heard before and will probably never hear again (which is meant in a 100% positive way, to clarify), so in a way it really is a "once in a lifetime" experience! But I actually recognized a few that he played, including some SUPER old-school ones that I still can't believe hardly anyone recognized:

- Mathew Jonson - Decompression (not old school, but wicked anyway)
- Fatboy Slim - Right Here Right Now (??? mix)
- Art of Noise - Moments in Love (the ambient track that he played during his speech at around 10:15)
- The Pink Panther remix!!

He spoke a couple of times throughout the night too, and was really upbeat and energetic and friendly with the crowd despite the fact that one of his turntables was apparently broken... haha. I had the feeling that he was just being professional and wasn't having as good a time as he was @ Boa, but apparently I was wrong if he stayed until 3 pm!!!

The venue/crowd:
Major props to the Docks for a kick-ass job on the sound, lighting, and organization in general. It did start to get a little crowded and pushy at one point in the "main" area and reminded me of the GUV, but fortunately there were *lots* of "side" areas to go to dance, the lounge was never too packed, and there was always tons of space outside, so you could get some fresh air without breathing in pure smoke. :o

Crowd seemed pretty friendly; it's already been brought up that the gay crowd was in full force, although I didn't really notice much of the crazy that people were talking about (then again, I never really notice these things, with gay or straight people). Still, it's better than the 40-something sketchbags who hug the speakers and the floor and constantly get in your way! So I've really got no complaints, all around good vibe there. :)

The fact that he went until 3 pm when I thought it was closing by 12 at the latest:
@*#%$%^^!!

Overall:
If my mostly-good review doesn't make sense considering how I was that night, it's because it was a REALLY rough night for me. To make a long story short, almost everything that could go wrong for me did go wrong, and I spent most of the night sitting down or standing outside battling a mild case of food poisoning (now confirmed), without even a Tums or a glass of milk until several hours later (thank you Tara btw). I don't blame a single part of my crappy mood on the event itself, and I think under any other circumstances this probably would ranked in my top 5 parties.

There were some of you who I was really excited to see and looking forward to hanging out with a bit (you probably know who you are, so I won't name names), but it was not to be, so sorry if I was not at 100% that night or even 50%. That's the one depressing thought that keeps nagging at me, but there'll be other times I guess. It was still great to have you all around and see your smiling faces and I hope it's not long before the next time. :)

Really it was an awesome night overall, if not such an awesome night for me personally. I'm sure many are still recovering from the marathon, so I can only assume that you'll come back with glowing reviews! I might even go so far as to say that this event will put the Docks on the Toronto party map, because it was positive energy all-around and the place was still hopping in the wee hours of the morning (and apparently the afternoon too!).

Two thumbs up to the Docks and Danny. Whenever he comes back to Toronto, this whole forum better be on its way to see him!

danny T was an absolute spectacle. the music, the vibe, everything was through the roof. now i know the hype associated with his name. i have absolutely no complaints for the night except for the fact i got the boot at around 945 (my own stupidity). thaank god rj came with me cause i would have froze outside waitng for everyone. when we got back to the house rj and i decided to mimic DT's set of 17 hours, but fell 3 hours short. . .. . . i dont know how he does it for soo long. congrats to the docks for making this happen, and proving that the docks crew can still throw a party, a really good one at that.
