Dave's probably still a bit angry at Party107, and took it out on Laush. I, too, still respect Dave's choice to leave. What I think we need now is for Tiger and Lane to give us their side of what happened. I'd like to know the story from both sides, and see some logs. |

Dave is just an idiot basically. I think Lucy should post the PM he once sent her. From what i've heard of it, it's absolutley hilarious. What I find really funny though, is that I started reading this thread in total agreement with Dave, and I was finally starting to build a little respect for him and what he was doing. Then, all it took was a couple of pages of some of the most childish and unfunny bull i've ever seen on the internet from him, and just like that all credibility was gone :stongue:

dave, the way you go on in this here thread is completely insane, from a quiet statement of resignation to completely abusing other users, jesus.
i can't believe how serious you have taken the whole thing, djing should be a hobby, you shouldn't be acting like this at all. how often do you see somebody like dave dresden start writing in large font "challenging" somebody like you are then abusing them?
if you are a semi-pro dj, you should be ashamed of yourself, that's all i have to say as a moderator and as a fellow dj

Wow, has this thing gotten completely out of hand.
#1: Everybody is entitled to their opinion, Neither I nor Markus would ever interfere with anyone ever coming on and discussing their opinions about any topic, whether it be politics, womans rights or something is trivial as their tastes in music.
#2: There was an issue I had with party 107 this week. In a nutshell it was about them being more professional. I am not going to allow any DJs I have a vested intrest in (Markus, Armin or any other David Lewis or Armada DJs) be treated or represented in an unprofessional manner. We have never made any kind of agreement to be part of party 107, but we did not interefere with Tigerclaws broadcasts because if it would help a new, young radio station like party 107 make it, then that is good for the scene. It would be another good outlet for DJs like Dave Piazza, Mitiska, and others to express themsleves. My specific issue was how Party 107 handled their Festival, specifically Markus's set and their increasing requests for promotion on GDJB. When I suggested to Tigerclaw that party 107 might not be in the best interest of GDJB because of my concerns, I also mentioned that I was not happy with the amount of negativity that was being generated by the rest of the community of Party 107. I just did not want the show I represent to be someplace where it is not appreciated. You see folks, you dont realize this....but we do not get paid for GDJB, it is a labour of love. Markus's exact words are, "GDJB to me is an investment into the future of our scene, and a way to give back to the loyal fans" For this reason, I thought it would be best to pull GDJB from Party 107, and broadcast exclusively on ETS and Trancesphere. They have been big supporters, and really appreciate what we are doing. The rest of the chatter was just Tigerclaw and Party 107 scrambling to try to make things better to keep GDJB. At no time did anyone ever try to censor anyone.
I will be truthful though, I personally do have a problem with people going out of their way to flame a show that that works very hard giving outlets for bedroom DJs to be heard and discovered. Our GDJB bedroom DJ contest is the hardest and most demanding show we put together all year. We listened to over 800 sets this year. I would much rather have spent those 2 months we spent going through all of those sets and instead, taking Alex to the beach here in Miami. That is my opnion, and I too am entitled to it. If someone asked Dave to not voice his opnions, then that is not right, However, if someone asked Dave to be supportive of the people that support him, and give him opportunities to express himself musically, then he shouldnt over react.
I thin kParty 107 needs to patch things up with Dave, and let him be able to express himself musically, he obviously has a talent, and deserves to be heard. I also think that Dave......if you are given an opportunity then the way to gain fans and listeners is to let your music do the talking and not your fingers on your keyboard on message boards. If you feel strongely about your music, people will hear you and they will support you. GDJB got to where it is at today, by being a contributor to scene in a positive way. Not by criticizing what was popular at the moment to attract attention. It took Markus over 10 years, but he stayed true to his sound. This community really needs to relax. |
