People who are about to commit suicide need better help than those useless Suicide Assist phone lines. I mean, HOW THE HELL ARE YOU GONNA HELP SOMEONE OVER THE PHONE? TELL THEM EVERYTHING WILL BE ALRIGHT TOMORROW?
Honestly, I have thought about suicide myself, a lot, especially over the past few months. Life's hard. I mean, what is that phone operator gonna tell me - dont do it, you will be ok, bla bla ... Subway is a quick way to end life, as compared to drinking poisonous liquid (where the hell you gonna find a quick effective liquid like that?) or jumping off a skyscraper (hard to find access to rooftops).
Maybe suiciders are trying to attract attention - that they need help, maybe put a a note on a bareer near tracks saying - before committting suicide go to this address - we will help, GUARANTEED. And they better improve their Suicide Prevention System - its pathetic.
Just because you think you life is good, you dont have to bash people on suicide watch - its plain ugly. You should help them is you dont want to see people jump off buildings around you.Doing nothing wont change things at all. |

What is the point of our lives then, anyhow? To get paid, laid, pay rent and die? I mean, is that the direction you are heading with this post? WHO CARES? But then again, this thread was started, because somebody cares. Whether you like it or not, you care, because you chose to talk about it. Its time we do something about it. Actions speak louder than words. Sarcasm and entertainment are differen things. You are talking sarcasm. |

The point of our lives are to enjoy ourselves to the fullest and to deal with our problems accordingly. If you got a problem, deal with it. If you want to kill yourself, dont do it by jumping in front of a moving subway possibly traumatizing young children in the process. Have some courtesy, jump off a cliff in the boonies, say like....in Dundas. And no - sarcasm and entertainment can be the same thing, i find entertainment in a lot of sarcasm, especially on message boards.

| P.S. - i do feel bad for people who have come to a point in their lives where they feel like there is no point to live. I just dont respect those who decide to end their lives with the intent to with those who's lives are perfectly fine (i.e.- subway jumpers, suicide bombers, etc.) |

OK then. So be it. But people will continue to jump off subway platforms, because nothing is getting done about it ... if you know what I mean. Its a problem, obviously, and it needs a solution, right? Making it a source if entertainment and sarcasm only makes it worse. Do you agree? |

There are many ways of killing yourself in this world. Jump off a bridge, cliff, eat a bunch of pills, shoot yourself....the list goes on. You cant regulate suicides. Its impossible. A simple banner on the side of a subway terminal is not going to make a difference with someone who has already made up their mind. |
