yep yep yep.

all over the news - Arafat is having trouble keeping his food down, and is feeling super ill.

here is CBS news coverage on it:

or just google and read your own news.

is this a happy day or what? or will it be a happier day when he dies?

I don't like to enjoy the pain and suffering of others, unless they're guilty as hell of causing others similar pain. Yasser can't hurt enough for the pain that he has caused Israelis since the 1970's. Let him live another 20 years in a constant state of suffering.

Or let him die. That's cool too. :D

Well, for once we all agree on something. If it weren't for him, the Israel-Palestine problem could have been solved decades ago.

And lets hope there's equal amount of suffering on the Israeli side as well!!

But seriously, I dont think the death of Arafat can hurt the peace process as I would imagine that the next president may be a little bit more modern.

However, its not the PLO attacking Israel is it so it may be irrelevent until Israel realises that maybe they should be talking to Hamas or Hizbullah if they want them to stop as PLO have no control over the terrorists...

First of all, I hardly think Sinn Fein is comparable to Al Quaeda. Secondly, unlike Sinn Fein who were fighting for a semi-legitimate cause (national independence), Al Quaeda is fighting for a totally illegitemate, harmful, and backwards-oriented cause (isolating middle east, denying women basic human rights, installing a rigid theocracy). Most of irish people would prosper under an independent Ireland. Most of arabs would suffer if Al Quaeda gets what they want.

Well we're talking about Palestine...any comments?

And the aim of a "war against terrorism" is to stop terrorism against you. America is not the guardian of democracy in the world and never has been. Why would they care what happens to Arabs in the Middle East as long as the terrorism against America stops? They dont seem to care much about them now do they?

Hamas and Islamic Jihad have always stated they will not stop until they have all their land and remove the Jews from the middle east. You can't reason with that, especially with a group that uses intentional civilian killings as a tactic. Israel has no one to talk to and that is the problem, the terrorists are stronger than the leadership of the country yet the weak leadership hangs on, with no possibility of ever doing the one thing that it would take to end this conflict, stopping the terrorist groups from ever killing another Israeli citizen intentionally.

Agreed. The sooner this bastard dies, the better. The only problem though is they haven't even considered his successor yet. Anyone familiar with the Palestinian gov't system have some guesses on this possibility, and who would be good/bad for the situation?
