I'm not Gay, but like, I don't know why anyone would care if Gays wanted to marry?? Why are we even voting on that?

I have serious issues with this. However, since in these states it was a decision that was left up to a vote I can't condemn our current government and their stance on it. The constitution guarantees us freedom of religion, and if more conservative Christians are getting out to the polls and voting (which is obvious by the overall popular vote) then issues such as this are obviously going to have these results. Fortunately this isn't a nationwide law approved by the White House (yet), or I could go into a long rant on the freedom of religion thing ...

The Senate minority leader lost his seat, when the hell is the last time that happened?

I don't understand how 50% of America has failed to see that Bush is a moron, i really don't.

The rest of the world knows it, but i guess Bush's campaign of "security" (read: Fear) worked wonders.

the rest of the world has their own problems, another point I want to make is that maybe this is the right thing to do, I mean Bush has done it for 4 years now and MAYBE will get it right, there's no point putting another n00b into the white house

I would like to argue that the rest of the world does have an interest in this US election, and it definitely concerns us. As the most powerful country in the world, the US holds enormous influence over world affairs and the the economies of many nations.

The "War on Terrorism" waged by George Bush has only succeeded in creating further division between the Western World and creating more conflict and heartache. Australia is a loyal ally of the US, and because of this, our Prime Minister John Howard agreed to participate in the war and engage our troops. We are closest to Asia, which is a hotbead of Muslim fundamentalism. There have already been two terrorist attacks close to home: in Bali, Indonesia and then again in Jakarta, Indonesia ---> The Australian Embassy just a couple of months ago.

My point is, by joining Bush in his war on terror, my country has become a greater target for terrorists and Australians have been killed because of our government's actions in supporting George Bush.

they have nothing to do with each other, but they have to work together

as the double headed eagle of the russian federation (avatar) would point out that

though these two totally different things are opposites of each other they must work for the same body - the country itself

also - there isn't an unlimited amount of tax breaks, if gay couples start getting them, straight ones might miss out and so they vote against gay couples

politics comes down to money, which really sucks at times

yeah i guess im just looking at it from a liberal point of view. unfortunatly capitalism rules the globe. which is not a bad thing. when it comes to voting im very liberal, but when it comes to work and everday life im very capitalist. Gotta love money

*My opinion*

If Bush wins, I think I may move to a completely different continent.

I would be ashamed of being attached to such a stupid country.

*No offence*
