As much as that's a great idea, don't forget who's in power. They're more likely to send Democrats and minorities to war. Give them less compitition in the next election |

and most likely would end up invading us in the future for our resources anyways, so dont act all high and mighty. plus, since your government seems content to develop economic hegemony over its allies and decides not to listen to the member states of NATO or the UN, what is to make us believe you'd answer our call for military assistance? squat.
also, although conflict with either seems fairly distant presently...it's my opinion and many others that you would not be able to take either russia OR china in an aerial or ground-based war. the only forseable victory for the states would be nuclear conflict, and everyone loses there.
so yes, GW would still be a twat. |
Name a country that the US has ever invaded for its natural resources. If that were the case we would be stealing Iraqi crude as fast as we could pump it. Instead we invade the country, spend billions doing it in order to remove a violent dictator and hopefully add a little more stability to the middle east.
Like it or not, every country we have invaded since 1900 has been to defend it from some foreign agressor or some communist revolution, not to steal resources. And it has almost always been at the request of the rest of the world.
And I have to disagree with you on us not being able to take China or Russia. The US would not beat them in a matter of days like Iraq but we have the most powerful, most advanced military there is. Neither Russia or China would want to test that.
And again, our massive nuclear stockpile would prevent China or Russia from going there. |

and gays, let's not forget the gays
but the ironic thing is, most of the Bush voters all all gung-ho about war and would probably enlist first |

true, and this would be good cause those that survive and come back all messed up are less likely to vote for him again. ;) |

what's with this thread? you guys couldnt hack it in the Political Debate and Discussion Forum?
actually i dont blame you, it was mostly flaming in there.
on a side note, i'm glad Bush is still in office. I support the conservative side, as my morals and values closely match those of many conservatives.

NOTE:
"Kerry's telling college students Bush is going to bring back the draft (which, btw, a bill to do so was crushed in the US Senate 99-1, and obliterated in the US House 434-2) <-- rough figures.*
* and OMG, the 1 vote in the Senate was a DEMOCRATIC senator, and oh wow, the 2 votes in the House were from DEMOCRATIC representatives. Methinks it's hypocritical for their party to rant about Bush and the draft when it's their own party bringing up such bills." |

| Yan, you're right. That's one thing that is absolutely ludicrous. |
