Last week I watched thousands of Sandhill Cranes take off from Bosque Del Apache Wildlife Refuge (south of Albuquerque) after sunrise.
I was wearing 4 layers of clothes and freezing my balls off, but there was almost no place in the world I would have rather been than in the midst of that indescribable beauty - than in that moment.
It was living a poem.
There is something about New Mexico that intoxicates you, seduces you, and simply doesn't let you go.
I'm still drunk off the decanter of enchantment days later, so I'd have to say I love New Mexico for the way it touches my soul. |

how anybody can put a god anywhere in such a list is a mystery to me, but each to his own eh ;)
