Go on vacation, that's my beef with Tiesto, the guy simply showed up to take the money and go away in 2002 (the place was ing soldout for weeks and yet he put one of the worst displays I have ever seen and it showed how bad superstar deejays have become). If I see a deejay, I want him to actually be there or pretend such. I've thought it was all about the money then, so I gave up on Tiesto personally and I've been slated like hell for it. I want a deejay to want to be in Toronto, if I go to see him, he may not be feeling his best but at least he wants to be there, I think that adds to his performance.

with that being said, people will either hate or love him and probably few will be in between.

You know damn well Hybrid won't do that on the 3rd:D

I really don't know what post to quote because every one of you tiesto fans post the same tired e.

"oh you're only haters because you think its cool to dislike the popular artists".

Please give me a break. As soon as anyone expresses a negative opinion on dj tiesto you all go off on this rant about how he's number one and how we should just deal with it. he's an average dj backed by a massive publicity train that helped hugely to get him to where he is today.

I think some people on hear need to expand your horizons and stop getting caught up so much in tiesto the motion picture.

naw it's true that ppl tend to put down popular things just because they're popular, just think about it. no one wants to be wearing what everyone else wears or like everything that everyone else likes because that's just boring. ppl strive to find the new and be different which is good. i've noticed that whenever any name becomes more popular, more ppl tend to bash them because to many, becoming popular is the sign of going commercial and selling out even though that might not be the case. once something is liked by the masses, u can no longer call it your own so you therefore you turn to shun it. this isn't true for every case obviously but it does happen.

you have to give tiesto credit for getting to the top spot in the first place three years ago, how he managed to keep that spot up to this year i'm not quite sure tho...

note to myself: next time you see a tiesto/armin/pvd/oakie/is trance dead/what is cheese/etc thread, don't click on it.

I want Tiesto to refund me $40 for his bull show he did here in Chicago this summer. So I can than use the money to see DeepDish @ Soundbar on the 26th :D

Yeah, but it's happened to me twice now with Tiesto :(

Tiesto is not God, he is just human... You can expect him to pay attention to every fan, it's like a crazyhouse when he performs. People all want something from him, girls go nuts.... Maybe just wait untill the time is right, and you could complete the djmag top 3 in your avatar. ;)

Ouch, read all 13 pages at once. IMO, one of the most pointless threads I've seen in a while. I won't even contibute to the argument except to agree with Dave's statement about Tiesto in Chicago. I'm a a fan of Tiesto and like most of his stuff but that was a e set from him. Totally dissapointed there.

Let’s be honest. Good music like good wine takes a lot of time and effort to find. You can't expect your average clubber to do the dirty work of finding the next big thing. They expect the club promoters and owners to do that for them. Clubber want to get drunk and hit on girls.

That said.

I think a large part of the blame should go to the club promoters who bring in bull DJ's to the clubs and help create the bull club culture which is more of a show rather than an appreciation of the art form which is EDM.

They're are a few clubs in Chicago which have done their fair share to rebuild EDM in Chicago but hundreds still remain in the dark ages. As a result the typical Chicago clubber only knows of Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, and Armin and the tunes they play.

Also.

It’s the media outlets in the cities which promote ty music. Here in Chicago we have no dance music station at all. Just rap and hip-hop. We did awhile ago but it was filled with euro-cheese and ty bad boy bill sets. This did not help to create the ‘educated’ clubber one hopes for.

Unfortunately that's the problem in our capitalistic society. Its not about the quality of music, its about what can sell the most tickets or attract the most crowds.

Wow,

Do you think ill even think about "Will I read 13 pages of tiesto debating?"? Thats too much for me.

Im no Tiesto lover/hater, but what I saw from him is average overall.

Dont like him? Dont listen to him!

You might not realise, but the points that youre coming out with make you look really ignorant. Ignorance is bliss though isnt it?

Lol. And the people like you, with your absolute elitist attitude and sensless bashing, always suffer from having one major flaw in your arguments - YOUR OPINION IS NOT FACT. Everytime you post its just a stab or a flame with useless justification, and even if you do have good reasoning people have to fight you like hell to get it. Seriously, why did you even enter this thread? Do you like doing this? I'm fairly sure the majority of the TA community doesn't. I'm not attacking your taste, opinion, intellegence, freedom of speech etc. nor am I defendig Tiesto. It's just that when you post in this fassion it is idiotic and harmful to our already weakend community. So I figured I would ask you, respectfully, to please post in an intellegent manner, and give ligitimate reasons for your arguments so they are not just meritless flaming, or to just hold off posting in places where you are so tempted to do so. Because in my eyes, and the eyes of many others, posts like these do nothing but diminish people's respect for you.
