Is Anti - American sentiment "trendy" these days? (pg. 2)

No, they can't, because they've been brainwashed by the multiculturalists, who have taught people to think about human beings in groups rather than as individuals. You hear the same thing all the time referring to countries as well: "American culture," "French culture," even "European culture" or "Islamic culture." It's all a load of . People aren't carefully crafted units right off the assembly line which can be classified together into some cohesive, unanimous "culture" or "society." People are individuals - when you realize that, then this kind of becomes absurd. It's no more trendy than the next half-assed idea that the demagogues have pounded into the heads of idiots: "Americans are imperialist rednecks," "the French are cowards," "McDonalds makes you fat," "marijuana is a gateway drug," "you need to take an anti-depressant to treat a chemical imbalance," "the female chest is offensive, but the male chest isn't," blah blah ing blah. It's all a big steaming pile of crap, none of it is trendy, and the only people who buy into this kind of are morons. |

Well, technically, you caught me hyperbolizing - I guess I don't hate all things trendy, after all. I don't have interest in these things I like because they are trendy though - that's the difference I was considering. I have come to like anime and Epic trance by my own measures, or at least, I wasn't guided by some societal recogniztion merely because I like these things - after all, they're not real popular things, and I tend to despise most Otakus. :happy2:
Admittedley, there are tons of variables to consider, and the subconscious has funny ways of steering our interests and prejudice. So whatever trends are out there, recognized or not, are merely consideration of patterns, given a label. "Trends", to me, are just ephemeral fads that seem to sporadically reemerge througout time. It's just a word - nothing for anyone here to get bent out of shape about. ;)
So in short, I hate all trends except for the ones that I like.

But I detest totally useless trends in which people have nothing constructive to say and merely choose to muse about politics by which they have very little true understanding of. Short-sighted conclusions and all that - it's the hipocrisy that leads people to become exactly what they hate; failure to realize this, though, is what is truly to be shunned. |

This is not something new, at all. My grandmother had taught me to "hate" Americans when I was a little kid.
