WOW  Last night was friggin AWESOME!!!!!!!!:D

Well it got really rammed pretty early and at one point it was rammed inside and yet there was still a really big lineup that went from the main doors around to the street and almost reached THE DRINK front door and lots of people couldn't get in because it was just too full. Busy times out front for sure.

Liquid Todd played much better than expected considering how I didn't expect much from him and all.Paul Oakenfield didn't disapoint and from got the crowd hyped up from get go and when when he put on Traffic everyone went nuts and the whole place was dancing like crazy all night which is good to see. The vibe was electric and unbelievalbe and set early.

Oakenfield got the crowd going and did little thing to get the crowd worked up like looking at the customers who were on top of the go go boxes and giving them thumbs up and doing the same with the people who were on the stage and throwing his arms up in the air and stuff so he didn't seem to be the cranky guy who doesn't look at the crowd which is how some described him as before. He played some really good and hard stuff and wow it was good:D

WOW Mark Oliver played some really good stuff and killed it and at at 7am he stopped playing for a while and then the crowd wanted more and he terrorized the decks for another hour and 15 minutes!! :gsmile: Many people thought Mark Oliver outplayed Paul Oakenfield even though Oakie played great as well and at like 6:30 some people still thought it was Oakenfield playing which shows that Oliver was playing at a equal or better level than Oakenfield and there was no drop off in dj quality at all with Oliver taking over after Oakenfield.

I was stuck in THE DRINK for a while and Manzone and Strong played great and it was interesting to compare their version of "Murder Was The Bass" to Mark Oliver's later on.I believe Addy was spinning at one point as well. Lots of hot chicks on that night for sure and I picked up 2 with one having big boobs and one having a big ass so combined they would be my ideal chick:D LOL:haha: :stongue:Too bad they and just about everyone else there wasn't from the GTA or immidiate surrounding area so I guess I will get a calling card LOL.

It was kinda funny to see some of the customers who were dancing on the go go dancing boxes out dance some of the go go dancers:D One chick near the exit bar box was doing some belly dancing type stuff and killing it with her hips and busting out some stripper moves which was very nice:gsmile: :happy2: :D

All in all a very good night and GUVERNMENT is undoubtedly still one of the top clubs in the world;) :) By the way GUVERNMENT has an in door smoking room in the D'LUXE Lounge which is upstairs so you didn't have to smoke outside.:eyes:

wow, best night at guv in a while.... really impressed with oakenfold...although his mixing could still use some more practice....a little busy but i sorta dealt with it....... mark killed me after oakie.

i tried to write this earlier, when i got home at 5, but i couldnt long on to TA

Liquid Todd
---------------
was lack luster for most of the night, until the last 45min of his set. he started playing some tracks i loved...none of which i can actually ID ofcourse, cause im horrible at id'ing tracks. but i did take a small vid of some of the songs, so hopefully i can help after.

the energy really started to build in that last little bit, and it really transitioned well into oakey.

Oakenfold
-----------------
well what can i say? the man destroyed me! he played nice and hard, and with great mixing. he had been critized for his mixing as of late, but i think this set would put any of those doubts to rest. Many of the tracks in the first hour were already banged out by him in the last year or so, so the set was nice and familiar. Always nice to hear Southern Sun, and beautiful day, and i loved WORLD ON FIRE!

WAY OUT WEST - KILLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i cant believe he played this!!!!!!!! my fav song at the momment.

The second hour, IMO was not as uplifting, and therefore was not as good. it was hard, and a consistant build, but i dont think it had the quality of the first hour. you may disagree with me, but thats how i felt.

8.5/10

Over all it was an absolutly great set, and he did very very well.

I danced sooo hard last night, and i was partying near those guys at the front with the tune signs, they were cool. it was packed, buti totally expected that. i was still able to dance, and the people were actually really nice. you got the pricks, but overall a great crowd who wanted to party.

all in all, i had a great night, and randomly met a TA who was up from Florida. he was having a great time, and said he loved partying in TO. his TA handle started with a G, but thats all i can remember.

hope everybody had a good night!

i have a video clip of every single song from his set, so we can ID them later. I need to find some place to host them so you guys can hear the songs, and watch the vids. cause i cant possibly ID the songs on my own.

Id just like to say, Oakenfold was brilliant, and it's sets like this, that make me come back to his music eventhough ppl say hes DONE.

NOT TRUE.

I've been saying Oakey is back ever since "Great Wall"

In my opinion, Tiesto would get pwned to en death by Oakey, that being said, even Oakey should have placed higher than Tiesto (eventhough the real winner shoulda been AVB).

GOOOOOOOO OAKENFOLD!!!!!!

MANNNNNNNNNNN!!! Waaaaattta nite!! I knew the minute he dropped traffic that this is gonna be a set to remember.... only bad thing was that the guv was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PACKED!!!!! I was at the drink frm like 11 til 2 after tryin to come down into the crowd once to enjoy Liquid Todd's set! The good thing is that they open the gallery so I saw the whole set frm up there!!!! SOOOOO WIKKID!!!! Oakenfold dropped all my favourites....

Vadim Zhukov - Nothing Matters
Tiesto - Traffic
Oakenfold - Southern Sun
Armin - Blue Fear (Been waitin a LOOOOONG time to hear it live :))
Smith and Pledger - Believe 2004
Ferry Corsten - Sweet Sorry (The Thrillseekers remix)

THE WORKS!!! I was losin it and there was so much space up there that made the nite one of the best times ever!!!!! Manzone and Strong played some really funky tunes in the drink and the new renovations are quite impressive esp. that tiny VVVIP room :) Gotta get in there.... ENUFF Hot chix there too... I think more than i've ever seen at the Guv B4! I loved IT.... Can't wait until more info on Filo and Peri comes out.... I REALLY WANNA SEE EM SPin their own productions.... u don't get a lotta their kinda music in livesets nowadays! Hopefully it'll be another good time :)

I suspect Oakenfold was botched. But better botched and having fun than not-botched and putting on a poor show. I bet Oakie played @ 110% in MTL on Friday - partied all night and kept the buzz going to cope with the Saturday night gig.

The Oakie show was good (based on what to expect from The Oak): nothing but amazing tracks, fairly good programming, mixing good enough to keep the set moving (but no jedi-mind ).

Was this Oakie on fire (a la '99)? IMO - no, but based on the last few years of The Oak's performances - it was pretty darn good.

I enjoyed the night, enjoyed the company - and finished off a weekend satisfied as can be.

Sour Note: The crowding inside the Guv was utterly dangerous. Stairways were obstructed by people sitting/sleeping on them, exits were blocked with "jams" of people trying to get from one place to the other.

I don't expect to have 3 sq. feet of space when I go to a club, but I shouldn't be tossed around like a pin-ball all night either. Boo on the guv!

I think thats his standard. Could have been worse and only been for 45 mins like what happened in detroit.

It's funny how the substance takers always wonder if the DJs are on substances and then get upset when they find out they are.

I find that quite ironic actually.
