Classics

Yes, there's threads out there about classic trance tracks....but they get to be so huge and eventually are just tracks people love, not real classics.

I want to get a list going (that isn't REALLY long) of the true classics of trance, ones that you imagine EVERYONE has heard

Here's what I would say:

System F - Out of the Blue
Insigma - Open your Eyes
Pulser - Cloudwalking
Solar Stone - 7 Cities
Moogwai - Viola
Sasha - Xpander
Bedrock - Heaven Scent
Push - Universal Nation
Delerium - Silense(Tiesto Remix)
Paul Van Dyk - For An Angel
Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia
Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar

I would imagine EVERYONE has heard these tracks at some point

But I wanted to start a thread like this because I've been listening to trance for a few years, but I started after the 'glory days'. I don't want to miss a true classic, go through life never hearing it.

So again, not something that was great and SOMEWHAT popular, but tracks that were really EVERYWHERE back in the day, quality or not. I woulad imagine all the tracks above would qualify, but agian, I could be wrong and I def left some out...please fill some in....AND NOT A LIST OF 50 :p
Ariah
Gouryella - Walhalla :)

On the contrary, those are tracks people love, not classics. The irony is not lost on me.

Isn't that why they are classics? :conf: What makes a track classic if not large consensus that the track is very special?
NiteMer
Yeah, those are pretty popular. The only one I don't own on vinyl is Cloudwalking. To add:

Sunscreem - Exodus
Armin - Communication
Push - Strange World
BT - Remember
BT and PVD - Flaming June
and everything on Tranceport.
Ory
@ NiteMer:

I haven't heard the first 3 tracks you mentioned.
Michael19
the word "classic" is thrown around way to often.

alright fine...

everyone name a bunch of good that people liked more than other crap back in the day

Those (orignal post) are hardly classics to me. They're just big hits. It's no different from the mainstream scene. Each artist has certian hits.

obviously you are missing the point. they are not classics to you, fine. but classics is not about individual taste.

can you deny that almost everyone has heard them, and the massive support they all gained? that is my personal thoughts of what defines trance classics.

This is what i was going for bascially...something everyone has heard and can say "that's trance"...the memories come back.
I knew there would be a bunch of bitching if i did this, but oh well.

Im glad some people understood

BT - Flaming June was another I forgot to post, thanks to whoever posted that
Radagast
This is what I understand.

Classic:
1. Old
2. Embodiment of a specific sound which no longer exists

Your classics--excepting maybe two or three--meet none of these, therefore they aren't classics.
