There i said it...
Ive known Nick for years. He is by no means a promoter but a passionate fan. So passionate that he along with several others were involved in starting up a tribute website to the club. He does NOT get paid. He is only stating his opinion which everyone else seems to like to do around here. To slag him for his opinion is absurd. Maybe if you all put as much effort as he and his friends do into promoting the local scene we'd all be better off. Until you know what someone is all about, shut the up. The arrogance i witnessed in the other thread is appalling.
Grow up please... |

LOL -- what's with the Guv employing all these combative personalities in their club ? Are you guys given some special psyche tests before you get on their pay roll ? :D
This Nick guy might not be a promoter, and he might be a cool guy, but the methods he employed in posting on TOTA are suspect. Why talk about the docks instead of concentrating on hyping up Mark Oliver. Is it imperitive that for Mark O's classic night to be a success, Tiesto's has to suck ?
Nick deserves every bit of the roasting that he got because his purposes for posting here were made clear by his own words. To try and dissuade people from going to Tiesto -- and to get them onto his guestlist for Mark Oliver. Cheap tactic..and one that's not appreciated by clubbers. The only one who should off in this case -- is ole Nick himself. |

Excuse me but I have every right to be pissed off at that thread. Again, I know Nick well enough to know that when he extends an offer on his guest list its because he wants to meet new people and help them experience what he likes. He has absolutely no alterior motives. He does not get reimbursed by the club. It happens to be his birthday that night. The next time i see invites to another TOTAs birthday at their favourite club I'll be sure to start the flaming.
I agree with Nick. I dont like Tiesto and wont pay $40 to see him. And you can bet your ass that if i had a guest list and it were my birthday id be inviting all of you out to where ever i thought was a good alternative as well.
Funny how some people here are allowed to have an opinion and others aren't. Very sad. |

That thread is hilarious, I wish I had gotten to post in it!
edit: Nick's intentions may be innocent enough, but the long and short of it is that no one is going to guv that night because he's doing a good job promoting. and isn't that the point? to get people to go? |

| It's actually quite sad and really shows the immaturity of a lot of people around here. |

No one said he wasn't allowed to have an opinion, but if he expresses it in a way which offends people, then they should be allowed to respond. It's called free speech. You're just sore one of your friends got roasted, and fair enough -- you should get up and defend him. I read the thread, and it seems Nick was just a little over zealous in his approach to hyping up Mark O's night, and ended up talking a little bit too much about the Docks, instead of concentrating on reminding everyone that Mark O rules !
Don't blame the board because Nick doesn't have a clue as to how to word his posts -- especially when he lets on that he has a guestlist -- and runs a site, dedicated to the Guv. People are entitled to view his actions as something more then just a Guvaholic.
I'm going to neither...Tiesto sucks, and i've heard Mark Oliver drop classics before. Still, best wishes to the birthday boy -- I hope he, along with everyone at both parties has a fun night ! :) |

Well they are entitled to view it that way but it doesn't mean it's true. From this point on let it be clear that this is not the case.
have fun where ever you go and think before assumptions are made. |

ok, this whole thing is getting tiresome...
if nick is eagerly promoting this night because it's his birthday and he has "a one-time" guest list then i'll buy it as over enthusiasm
if he has a regular guestlist then he is a promoter and shouldnt be slagging other events to promote his own
none of this was meant to be a personal attack on nick, just his method of promoting the classics night at guv....he says we've met and i'm sure he's a quality guy...
lets hope both shows are killer and nick has a great birthday!
i'm done:) |

I know Nick from partying at guv over the years. He is one of the genuine old school type of partiers and all around good person.
I think all this flaming has no substance and just another TOTA drama episode. |
