Who would you prefer them to book? Some no-name dj? Give me some examples of good bookings and I'll tell you if they've played there. And don't be gay about it and name the most obscure dj's possible.

Side question. Does Micro get booked a lot out there? Mike's an alright guy, but he's not exactly a great dj. I was just curious if he gets played a lot out there.

you talkin about DJ Micro ? sure he plays in NYC alot but never at clubs.. mainly @ raves.. hes a Caffeine artist and Caffeine is based out in Long Island NY i think.
NiteMer
Yeah. That's what I meant. So he doesn't have a lot of credibility in New York? Makes sense, I was just curious. He's a very mediocre dj.

It depends what the club is all about. I have no time for these mish mash 'super' clubs with absolutely no music policy other than whats the 'in thing' at the time.

Obviously this club has no music policy of its own, its a follower not a leader. I have much more time for smaller clubs doing their own thing & booking their own sound. They have 1000 times more integrity & more respect.

They also book quality house dj's and some quality techno acts as well, but, unfortunately, Denver is not a city that's into techno. Roger Sanchez plays there this Saturday. And their locals are fantastic as well. Playing tech house, house and some prog. I wouldn't say they are just following the trends. It's not just trance and mc prog. They also book quality breakbeat dj's. The one style you don't really here there, on the main stage, is drum and bass/jungle.

i agree with that statement.

with regards to halliwell, its a pity because he has/had the potential to be a great dj, its just that most of the time he is too wasted to have a clue what is going on, thus the amazing trickery you and az are on about. :stongue:

his first essential mix was ing amazing.

He was pretty on point last night, but I didn't hear a lot of trickery. As I mentioned, it was my first time hearing anything he's ever done. I didn't know about record run-outs and channel tomfoolery.

maybe, maybe not? either way you have to realise that clubs like this are just businesses. Everything is a transaction, and when PvD/Tiesto/Sasha/Digweed roll into town once a year they have absolutely no connection with the place. They are there because a promoter booked them. And the promoter booked them because thats how he feels he can make the most money.
