[Sarcasm] Maybe they could book PVD every week and then it'd be sweet! [Sarcasm/]

I can understand you're skepticism, but I wouldn't speak as an authority on a club you've never entered. I won't try to tell you which clubs in England or Ibiza are great or not, as I've never been in them. I'm sure there are better clubs out there, but most EDM listeners would consider the Church to be a great club. Only the ultra-elitists, such as yourself, wouldn't.

for a club to be a 'great club' it MUST have some degree of musical integrity. This club obviously has none. It is not a 'great club'.

maybe, maybe not? either way you have to realise that clubs like this are just businesses. Everything is a transaction, and when PvD/Tiesto/Sasha/Digweed roll into town once a year they have absolutely no connection with the place. They are there because a promoter booked them. And the promoter booked them because thats how he feels he can make the most money.

I will agree with you on that. It is a business, but I don't see that as a problem. If they can get quality dj's in every week, it keeps the people happy. Most of the big names make it to Denver more than once a year. No residencies, but I would say they play here at least 3-4 times a year. I know what you mean about the connection potentially being better if they play there as residents though.

Not everyone is looking for the same things in a club that you do. Your biases don't determine whether or not it's a good club.

Therefore it cannot be a 'great club'. Perhaps you are confusing it with something else like 'a great night out' or whatever.

exactly, quite a lot of people just think clubs are 'great' if they go there and take a load of drugs in them. Doesnt really make them good though does it - maybe for the person thats a 'good night' but it does not make the club 'great'. Please understand the difference between the club, and the night out.

hes still around[rarely].. played @ ultra music festival in march this year and at a nasa reunion party @ arc in nyc. hes one of those nyc resident djs that couldnt hang with the big boys when the euro invasion started.. alot of nyc residents experieced this, but djs with real talent are still around however. vasquez, danny t, francois k, humphries, romero etc..

We're going to have to agree to disagree. As I am saying, there are different reference points for the evaluation of a club. In an idealistic sense, it would be great if the club had top-tier dj's as residents and more musical integrity, but the residents are really as good as any headliner out there. One of them plays a lot in South America and some in Europe. He's not a household name, but he's better than most of them.

Just so that I understand your reference point, what do you believe makes a great club, as opposed to a good night out?

why does top tier djs as residents make the club good?? you make very little sense really. Not everything is assessed on 'achievement' and 'stats'. :haha: If you go out to a club and their music policy is coming across to you as really honest & there is some connection there with the DJ and the crowd (he isnt there becase a promoter wants to make money off him, or he wants to promote you his CD) plus there is a bit of history & some mutual respect from djs both in whatever that field is and outside it (no not necessarily BIG DJS!1!) then that is what makes a club 'good'.
