Just my two cents ;) |

Well, I'm still writing trance though, well music in general really. It just takes alot more time now that I only have weekends off every now and then and given that pretty much all of my x-mas vacation was spent travelling. :)
However, I'm very much of the opinion that changing style to be fresh isn't really necessary... trance can still be fresh, it's just that alot of people get caught up in the same kind of sound and don't seem willing to be experimental without changing the genre. I know Jezper will make some amazing stuff when playing around with his new styles of music, but I also know that he could write some amazingly fresh and tight trance aswell, should he want to.
The fact that "everyone" is writing trance though just means that everyone is writing trance... if you write something fresh, it will still be fresh regardless of what style it is and how many people are writing music that fits the same genre. Being fresh is not about not writing trance, it's about being fresh. |
