Gielen Review! (pg. 4)

I really don't belive it is everybody. It's only a few select who try to screw it up for everybody. I understand everybody has their own taste. I hate rap, but i don't knock a person because I THINK my taste is better. It's all an opinion. McDonalds have sold billions of hamburgers, i still buy them, not because everybody else is buying them, I get it because it's good. with that i retire from the thread. :)

Again my favorite resident DJ, Kristina Sky, did one of her greatest sets so far, just some great selections and vibe all around. The drummer guy was unique, haven't seen anything like it before, in a way kinda reminded me of Safari Duo. :p One of the best parts have to be at the very end when they turned on the lights and cut the power. Everybody keep asking for one more song... after about 5 mins they let him play souther sun. everybody was going crazy. Thanks Leon! just AWESOME!! Here are some teasers...i'll post the rest later!

I got my picture of me pointing at Johan! :D

WOW!!! I just want to send out a huge thanks to Johann and TCH for putting on an awesome show. For me, it was my first time at such an event its left a beautiful aftertaste in my mind. The venue was awesome and so was the hospitality. Also a huge shout out to Kristina Sky, your set was awesome and it made waiting in line that much more special!! I was so hyped up getting my ticket that I was even more elated to find that it wasnt Johann on the decks but someone with equal talent and creativity. The melodies were awesome and brought even more emotional charge to the night.

Again, you are the best Johann and thanks for sticking to your guns and playing that one last song.

What a night is right....

Wowowowowowowow!!!!

I'm gonna respond to several posts on this forum. I would have posted sooner but Friday night turned into one very long weekend.

DJ XTracktor:

Thank you sooo much for the nice comments you had. I'm glad you enjoyed the set and even more specifically the G&D track.

The DJ that played after me was Victor Dinaire, a very talented DJ IMO. He has his own show on XM Satellite Radio. He just moved to L.A> so we should be having him play the club a bit more frequently.

Thank you so much for coming out and supporting and we really hope your first time at Heaven wasn't your last!!!

Despite what bitter people have to say on these boards, we are doing this club because we LOVE this music and this scene.
And I think it is obvious that the only way any club survives is with dedicated supporters like you.

Without you guys there would be no point to doing what we do.

OH MY GOD, what a night! First of I'd to thank kittycrush for hanging out since the very begining and orbital! Wow, this was my first time into TCH and for sure will not be my last! From the second I stepped inside, I heard Kristina Sky playing No One on Earth (Gabriel and Dresden Remix), that just gave off a great starting vibe! Her set really did go great until the very end. I know kittycrush told me the next dj's name but I forgot it already, came in hard with ALT+F4 - ALT+F4 but then started to go into the realm of hard house...:p , this was the moment to go look for a drink or something, but to my surprize a fruit bar! wow, this is the best idea I have ever seen in a club, not only was it cheap (3 dollars) you could take as much as you want and they were really really fresh! Natural sugar high with that and hydrated, I went back to finish up the set on the dancefloor. The next guy kinda amazed me, but at the same time puzzled me...he had talent thats for sure, singing, playing drumset, violin. But, I was not feeling it, I know lots did though. Then came the messiah...JOHAN! from start to finish, he played the best set that I've ever heard. I was listening to his energy 04 set earlier and was expecting something similar, but no way, he just took that and quintipled it! (5x ;) ) His energy toward the crowd was just spectacular, from singing to hand gestures. This will be a night to remember for sure! I am still in awe...Gielen played "Tres Ratones - Professor de education fisica" (it was the one that sampled ayla)! And even to the last track which he had trouble doing, guess he was there too long or something, was a blast! Now time to repair back, neck, legs and feet, nite!! :D

Highlights of Gielens set:

Tiesto - Lethal industry (Svenson and Gielen Remix)
Tiesto - Olympic Flame or Theme From Norfjell 2004
Tiesto - Just Be (Antillas Remix)
Oakenfold - Southern Sun (Fat Kid Remix Black Label)
Tres Ratones Ciegos - Professor de education fisica (Ayla Track)
Airscape - Sosei
Reworx - Born Again (remix?)
Vadim Zhukov - Mission 7
Jan Johnston - Skydive (remix?)
Young Parisians - Jump the next train (Kyau vs Albert Remix)
Jens - Loops and Tings (not sure about remix or maybe a different song with its samples in it)
The ROC Project - Never (Filterheadz Dub)
If i remember more I'll add... :thepirate

What an amazing night! I was so happy to be there, it felt great to be alive. Kristina Sky, you have such great talent. You knew what the crowd wanted, and delivered. Thank you very much, you were soo awesome. You really set the mood for the night.

Victor Dinair was good also. Hard House isn't really my thing, but I went with it. Really opened my eyes into uncharted territory. Thanks!

Johan, Johan, Johan! WTF! You are a godsend! No one has ever made me jump up and down as much as much as he did. If anyone can remember, I was the guy with the pink shirt.

I think my favorite song for the night had to be Ernesto vs. Bastian - Darkside of The Moon. One of my favs of 2004. Jump the next train was a close second.

Club Heaven, this wouldn't have been possible without you, a sincere thank you! I'm 18, and I'm so happy that it's going to be 18+! More clubs need to follow, we've been left out in the dark for too long!

Thanks again to all you TA's that went. You were all a great part of the experience also.

THANKS EVERYONE!

"Everything about heaven last night rocked. The first dj played some oldies but goodies like "we are alive" by pvd."

-I was the first dj, my name is kristina sky. glad u liked the tunes. i had a feeling that
"We Are Alive" was going to go over well. Glad to hear. I ended up having to play a longer set so that is why I decided to throw in some older tracks.

"The second dj I think it was Victore Dinare. He played some hard sh*t. It kind of took the crowd by surprise but it definitely pumped everybody up."

-Victor is a ing amazing DJ. He definitely came out of my set hard and did his thing and it seemed to get the crowd amped. You can always count on Victor to drop solid tracks.

"Then, one of the strangest things happened, some dude with 80's rock hair and tight ass pants came on stage and started singing, playing the drums, and playing violin to this real hard beat."

-This was Skyko you were talking about if you did'nt figure it out yet. Very funny guy and very nice guy.

Finally, Johan came on and blew everybody away. He played a very good mixture of stuff highlighted for me by well, they all were sick. By the way the go-go dancers, OFF THE HOOOOOK! Props to Heaven for putting on such a sick show and escpecially for the 18+ because without it, i wouldn't have been able to go. My friend Greg (Zealot on the boards) and I will be attending thrillseekers I suggest you do as well. Mad props to heaven

Johan was OFF THE HOOK as expected.
Glad you liked the go go dancers.. heheheh they sure do work it up there

Thanks again and see you at Thrillseekers!

wow you guys are making me blush!

thank you to everyone for the commments and feedback. I'm so happy to see that for the most part my set was well received( you cant please every person on the floor unfortunately).

I was really stoked to open for Johan and it makes me happy to know you feel I helped set the mood.

That night was very important to me. I have worked really long and hard on getting Johan here with Leon and it finally happened.

Not only did it happen but it was a beautiful success overall.

And it totally sounds cheesy but if I knew what the crowd wanted and delivered it, it was because the crowd was so awesome that night and showed me what they wanted. Again, thanks for the compliment. :-)

You can read my above posts re: Victors skillz.. hehehe

And BTW, the first time I ever saw Johan Live I was the exact same way as you described. Its actually funny.. There is a Pic on the boards that DaveT took, I think, and it shows you that he had the same eeffect on me... literally!! (i'l try to find it)

I really hope you come back to the club soon, we need as many people with your spirit as possible. It is that spirit that creates the vibe in the room.

thank u tank u tank u!!

I will post my pics as soon as I get them back from the developer. I only used a cheap disposable so Im a bit worried as to how they turned out. I took a lot of shots from both side balconies and then crowd shots for Johann's set. Will post back when I get them.

P.S. Skyko was sweett!!!!! It was totally unexpected but i was grooving really hard to his beat.

:stongue: Yeah, everyone was asking me the same question. :lol What many people don't know is that Johan is Airscape. And that Delirium - Silence record has 2 remixes. One side is Silence (Tiesto Remix) and the other side is Silence (Airscape -Johan Gielen- Remix)... So now it's signed by both artists.. Tiesto and Johan... And to top it off, it's a picture disc!!!! :whip: Next, I wanna get it signed by Sarah too... :eyes:

BTW, he also signed my DJ Mag Top 100 DJs of 2004 issue!!! Woopie!
