But if you get tired, or frustrated, don't worry just take a break. You won't learn overnight. Especially if you're tired - I've found that when you're starting to learn it requires *lots* of concentration... Good luck!

Nonono if you don't learn beatmatching in a week Djing just isn't for you. After a week you don't get any better.

You should just give up and sell all your stuff at at knock down price to a random guy off the internet (I'd be willing to provide this service... I'm nice like that). ;)

Keith,

How are the HR824 for mixing your vinyls?

Do they sound brilliant?

Just came across this thread. Three years sure did fly by quickly!

Sadly I still don't think I'm that good of a DJ. Since when I started this thread I took a more demanding job and then went for my MBA so I've been busy. But I've been trying to get back on the saddle recently. I even made some new additions. Primarily the laptop stand and a Native Instruments Audio 8 DJ audio interface (which works nicely with Ableton Live). I've also since increased my vinyl collection to 1,100, my CD collection to around 230, and my MP3 collection to around 4,800 (all legal) so the hardest part these days is choosing tunes, haha.

I will say this. Although many thought I went overboard three years ago with the equipment I choose, I've been more than happy. I've been able to grow into all of it and the Xone 92 left me with a lot of possibilities to expand.

Here are some updated pictures.

Thanks for bringing this thread back from the dead!

That setup is wicked, and the two vinyls you have on display I weirdly enough just pulled them out the other day.

Also, aside from your setup (which to this day (except the mixer) is my ideal setup) it was really interesting to see the TA's who used to post, even a couple of years ago that have vanished?
