Radders you need to calm down first of all,it seems like you are the one thats going to seriously on this whole topic,did you come here expecting this thread to be a flame because its definate that it would become a flame. People shouldnt talk trash about other types of music because there are people on TA that like that music,so expect a flame thread... All i say is lets all calm down,dont call each pricks and tell eachother to off and be hyporcitical,its the holidays.

scooter has produced some euro dance.. i think.. im not sure
i know he has a collaboration with masterboy
but clearly if he is using trance melodies that already exist (push, alex morph fictivision etc) then his stuff is trance
he has some stuff like nessaja and fire which as far as i cna think of is original
i personally dont think the main guy from scooter actually produces.. its probably main jay frog who has come out with some trance tracks
scooter is trance whether you like it or not for the most part, elements wise.. but perhaps not structure wise
im pretty sure if his group put their mind to it.. they can come up with something more progressing.. then just switching back and for between melodies
i personally i like "fire" :D |

Your'e so wrong!! There are more than prog and eurotrance! I don't listen to music like kelly liorenna, dj sammy etc.. i think it's cheesie and it sounds simple! But i still love trance music that isn't prog. You can't say that people only listen to prog just because they don't listen to eurotrance\dance!! Here's some examples of what i think is good trance that isn't prog: Salt Tank - Eugina (Michael Woods Remix), Solid Globe - North Pole, Dj Philip - Spring, 8 Wonders - The Morning After, William Orbit - Adagio For Strings etc, etc... (my definition of uplifting/epic/dreamy/melodic trance)

i got tired of reading about half way through cause everyone was kinda saying the same thing, so i'll join you all and say the same stuff again...
around here people dont know who scooter is. its all about sandstorm and DJ sammy's "heaven"
even then they dont know what trance is. its all techno to them. in one of my classes, people will be like, "hey zill(teachers nickname), put on some techno." then he'll put on some trance control CD i gave him two years ago or something. i provide that guy with live sets over and over and i always tell him and everybody that its trance, not techno, but i always get about it, and they continually call it techno.
they make fun of me for my music preference, and sadly enough, i cant make them aware of their ignorance, cause they dont think i have any idea what im talkin about....

| Same here,im sitting in graphic design and always have a trance cd in my front pocket. They always say techno no matter what i tell them. Its like "dude put on your techno ",first off its not and 2nd its not techno. People are so uneducated now-a-days in the US..and same about that dj sammy thing,theyre like holy dude dj sammy is the shes so hot...its not even a girl first of all. Horrible,they dont appreciate good music and talk about it like rap is the greatest.Horrible. |

There are plenty of definitions of trance. There's a difference between trance in '92, the trance Oakenfold played in '99, the trance other DJs played in '99, the "underground" ( :rolleyes: ) trance of today, and commercial trance.
So what's it gonna be? |
