| Because the records The KLF made didn't sell well until they remixed them in late 1989, and the trance originals were included as B-sides, which is when most of the world discovered them. The KLF trance records were quite ahead of their time, when acid-house had a domination of the dance music scene. When the rave movement came to a head in 1990 there was a huge explosion of styles and experimental records that included influences of records from years before. |

Be that as it may...it still seems a little tenuous to me. |

| These things happen. The TB 303 had been around for about 7 years and had already been discontinued before anyone thought to use it in a dance track. The Red Hot Chili Peppers were mixing rock and rap in 1984, yet only two other artists did the same in the entire decade. The acid house explosion was a lot bigger than when trance began in earnest in 1991, and nu-metal became extremely popular in the 90s, almost a decade after it had first been done. |

No, I don't think real trance must have acid. True a lot of it does (did), but a fair amound were nice without it as well. Cosmic Baby, Visions Of Shiva, some Resistance D stuff, some Spicelab stuff, some stuff Stevie Be-Zet did, I believe Castle Trancelott had some nice classics without acid, early Sun Electric stuff....there was good non-acid trance as well.
I guess most/all used the TB-303...but it wasn't all ACID TRANCE. And as I said there were some good tracks that had no acid in them... |

i don know i really think that some of the newer trance songs are using more acid effects not making the song enough to be considered an acid trance song but maybe a synth would make it a little more acidy giving it that bump or feel, with a nice rift...

The crucial part was "technically". I acknowledge all forms of trance, but as the elitists don't, i'm pointing out they should only acknowledge acid trance. |
