Trance to some people? (pg. 6)

Real trance to me is a state of mind more than it is a genre of music. The best trances utilize repititions in such a way as to with my mind.
The 2 requirements for my kind of "pure trance" are:
1) Repititions
2) "Engaging" sounds, or noises that I like enough to pay attention to
The sounds that I find engaging depend alot on the mood that I'm in, but mostly I tend to enjoy computer or electronic instrument sounds because I like how they can make such unreal noises. I also like songs that give off a feeling of being surrounded by the sounds, like im getting sucked into them or something. I tend to enjoy songs with a repeating and changing melody as well because they keep me interested wile still alowing for the repititions to work their magic on my head.
When I feel like dancing I appreciate a trance that builds up and energy or generates some excitement that is conducive to some vigorous flaiing.
I dont think I could name an artist or track that always qualifies as pure trance because that idea changes depending on what I feel like hearing at the moment, music in general tends to use repititions, so pretty much any genre has the potential to be entrancing for me(except maybe polka or something like that which I can't help but hate in almost every case)
I think that idealy everything that falls under this trance genre should be made with the purpose of using repitition to with somebody's head. Music that is made for other purposes but happens to be similar to a trance song doesn't qualify as far as I'm concerned. |

Pure trance= stuff people will rip on and claim be be ruining the genre.
Real Trance= stuff people will praise and claim to be the savior of the genre.
any track can fit into any of these catagories depending on the DJs who are playing a particualr song or the mood of the message board on any given day. |

The track is the very first trance track. There were trancy records before then, but The KLF put a name to the style and it stuck. It's a hypnotic, repetitive track with a four on the floor beat and a defined melody, and a lot of acid. It wasn't techno, and it wasn't acid house, it was trance. So, in effect, that is the pure trance sound, and anything that has since deviated from that sound is not pure trance, it is a variation. |

| And yet trance didn't emerge as a genre until three or four years later in Frankfurt and Berlin. Amazing. Explain that one. Quite an interim there that needs some explaining. I mean what is the real connection? Have any early trance artists said they were influenced by The KLF? Many were former German Techno producers. That's what we do know. |
