they are saying that because of the lack of clean water, food, and the state of people before it hit, and in the days past because they cant get help, plus the water and the dying, disease could rip thur alot of other people. they wont talk about numbers but apparently some "experts" are saying it could go as much as double the toll from when it hit, with people possibley dieing from disease
i'm like speechless from that... |

Yes, I know ... I was saying this century is going to HAVE a lot of natural disasters because of the global warming and the pollution.
Thats why I said - this century is going to be a very devastating one in terms of number of deaths resulting from natural disasters. The Earth is going to be very active and destructive this century. There is no need to hope for the better - its time to prepare. There will be worse disasters to come, like major earthquakes, massive hurricanes, floods, eruptions, etc. - and there is no need to take Nostradamus' predictions for this century as an encouragement - its pretty evident and scientists around will tell you that this century will bear many powerful natural disasters.
Dont forget the guaranteed earthquake in California in the next 20-30 years. Or strong proof of an upcoming quake near Tokyo. Or danger of massive landslides in Atlantic (there is a volcanic island off the coast of North Africa that is in danger of collapsing into the ocean - which will trigger a massive tsunami that will probably swallow 20km of North America's east coast) and Mediterranian. etc.
Oh, and as for the aftermath of this 9.0 earthquake underwater near the island of Sumatra - it's shocking to say that the death toll will easily surpass 100,000 PEOPLE. Its truly devastating. Poor people, and a lot of foreigners/tourists are missing too ... |
well, i think much of it has to do with the fact that if something happen on the other side of the earth, we actually hear about, and the conseqences are so much bigger than the used to be.
correct me if im wrong, but there is no proof whatsoever that for example earthquakes do occur more often nowadays than before?
anyway, terrible catastroph, its hard to understand how many people that is affected :( |

Some people on tribe are organizing a fundraising event - people are donating their flyering/DJing/event staffing services to gather some people and money for this cause.
I will post more details when they are available. |

Death toll now hitting 67000 people and still rising, I can bet it'll breach 100000 when all said and done. Aid is just now reaching the island of Sumatra where they've have found thousands of dead.
my god. |
