okay i found out recently this girl [Emily] is 'crazy' over me - altho I shouldn't have known - my mate [Victor] is crap at keeping secrets and she's too shy to say anything or give any hints etc. I think she's nice but don't like her as more than a mate.
She invited a few people round to her house the other day to watch movies etc... there i met one of her mates [Steph] and we really got on well - we playfully flirted all evening (yea it was probably out of order to do it right in front of the girl who really likes me - but I've learnt recently that nice guys finish last!) but I didn't get her number (yeah my fault i know! - she had to leave in a rush :rolleyes: )
On the way home Emily texted Victor saying Steph wanted my number - he showed me that text, which he shouldn't have really... so I guess Steph likes me as much as I like her. But the only way I know Steph is through Emily! I asked Emily for Steph's number but she's been avoiding giving it to me for a few days now :mad:
Seems to me as though Emily's trying to cling onto something which isn't there between us - so won't let me get with Steph. I know exactly how she feels, about a month ago I got rejected from a girl that I had liked for a while and that really sucked (she still ain't talkin to me - screwed up a decent frienship :sadgreen: ) but you just gotta accept that there ain't a mutual feeling.
It's frustrating - should i just come clean and tell Emily that i know she likes me? - that would probably make her lose all trust in Victor and dent their friendship but it'd probably make it easier to get to see Steph... what to do?? |

| God its like an episode of jerry sprnger, just ask out the person you see having a productive relationship with, just because one person has feelings for you, dosnt mean you should too. First off you need to have a word with your friend that withholding the info, or things could get ugly. |

you dont have to betray victor's trust. it's probably totally obvious that emily likes you. you can tell her you guessed it or avoid the subject.
cant you get this other girl's number some other way? |

billabong - i really have no feelings for emily other than as mates, so it's not really a question of who i'd rather have a relationship with. yea it's flattering to be told someone feels that way about you but i don't share those feelings
butterfly - to be honest it's not obvious at all, she's really quiet and gives me no hints at all etc - i would not have had a clue about how she felt if my mate didn't tell me. and i only met steph thru emily so at the moment the only way is by talking to emily
floorfiller - i do agree with you that i don't really need to tell emily what my mate told me, but at some point it'll become apparant (btw, signed up on royal vegas poker, put you as the reference, hope it helps you whatever that does!)
question is how can i let this girl know i don't have any feelings from her when supposedly i don't know she likes me... and how can i make her accept that me and her friend have something going on? |

apparantly i've just found out she couldn't sleep last night and has been on the phone today crying to friends :nervous: - now that i feel really bad about :sadgreen: ... a few weeks ago i got rejected by a girl i'd been after for ages, that really sucked and I know exactly how she feels.
it may have been insensitive of me to flirt with this other girl in emily's house, but i'd grown sick of being the one feeling bad about various things with girls - was just unfortunate that emily was on the receiving end of my new attitude
so at the moment i'm the position where I know that i've broken emily's heart and feel terrible about it, but i shouldn't know this, and if she knows I know then I end up screwing up her friendship with victor. And then there's still the whole thing about how to hook up with steph, but I suppose that'll follow after the rest is sorted - just don't wanna leave it too long
