You've only seen this girl in the office, but you have rapport.
Go out on the group thing, see how it goes out of office. If you like hanging out with the girl, ask her to lunch another day.
Repeat as needed with lunch, then go on a dinner date.
You'll either end up as friends or more.
You don't work directly with her, so I don't think that should be an issue, particularly to just hang out. |

Not sure if anyone else has said this.
But if your in a professional environment, check your work contract. It may stipulate that dating or "fraternizing" with co-workers is a firable offense.
if not then go for it.
I know there's people at my work that hook up, and date too. |
