Have you got a full 3" turbo or cat back exhaust? I can see a aftermarket backbox on one of your pics.
You can run up to 350 bhp on the SR and CA with a decent T28
440 injectors up to 320 bhp
550's are better for 350
Z32 AFM
BB T28
Standalone ECU
a decent custom chip
uprated fuel pump
tubular manifolds
etc etc etc
Remember that a bigger turbo will mean uprating internals, which costs soooo much, but then again its worth it ;)

I take it you want or have some incarnation of the SR20DET?
Anyway my local tuner ( http://www.japanesemotorsport.com.au ) has a promo S12 SR20DETT running an APEXI RX6 Turbo. The car’s putting out 300-350kw(411hp - 480hp) depending on boost levels.
Videos ( Note that it’s an S12 with an S15 front)
You’ll probably need a divX codec to view it HERE

Currently negotiating with them, but it’s not looking cheap. Forged pistons/cams/injectors/manifold/perhaps even a new intercooler/and some serious work to to the gearbox to cope with the power. ;(
And the current exhaust system is 3" from the manifold back with a no name muffler straped to the end:nervous: |

I don't have anymore pics of the doors open, but I might go take some more later. |
How much did that cost? |

yes i do want an SX desperately!!
I turn 21 this year, so the insurance will be affordable :D
PRices for the SX are very cheap
You can buy decent examples of the S13 200sx (we don't get the 180SX) from 1000 pounds which is about 2300 AUS$
A modded S13 with 300 bhp is on sale for around 2000-3000 pounds,between 5- 7000AUS$
I find that the S13 looks more sporty, and the S14/S14a is more of a Grand Tourer style coupe, but wouldn't mind the S14a ;)
here are some nice examples i have my eye on

For the S13, you would have to buy a universal Lambo door hinge kit. One guy has done it over here, and it looks really good
http://www.sxoc.co.uk/vbb/showthrea...ght=lambo+doors
This universal kit cost 750 pounds, but it took lots of modificatiobn to work on his car...he doesn't say but i think he spent a further 1000+ to get it to fit :nervous: try and find a specific SX kit ;)
Oh and here are some pics of my mates S14a

 That's ing amazing, to the point of making me want to cry. True, I did buy my S13 2 years ago for $AU14,500(manual, 65,000kms, with NO mods) but that's BIG difference in price :/ With my current (crappy mods) I would probably get around $14,000(75,000kms on it) if I wanted to sell it. Weird:(
Please search for 180sx's(s13's) on http://www.autotrader.com.au/search...ite=1&State=NAT and tell me how the the prices could be so different? A worked S13 here would set you back around $AU20,000
Thoughts? |

The thing over in the UK is Nissan's do not have a great racing heritage, although of course, we do know better.
In the UK, if you say you have a nissan, people will think "micra" (Match in japan) or Skyline (which is no bad thing of course)
People just haven't heard of the 200SX, and thus it has no "image" which is why prices are low. Thats not a bad thing for me of course, but it will when you go to sell one. Most people mistake the S13 for the Ford Probe :whip: or MR2 :whip: and mistake the S14 for the R33 and S14a for the R34.
Modded cars also don't go for that much extra money, because by doing so, you cut off potential buyers who are looking for a standard car, and also because people will usually want to mod a car themselves, and not buy one modded to the previous owners satisfaction.
One guy on the SXOC is selling his S13, which is believed to be the fastest CA outside of Japan (600 bhp @ the hubs) Its had around 100,000 GBP worth of parts and development put into it, but he's selling it for 25,000 GBP :(
however, 180SX's imported are worth a fair bit more, and S15's still command prices well over 12,000GBP as they are all imports and there is only about 25 in the counrty |

And weird about that guy on SOXC selling that 600hp s13 for 25,000GP(claiming he spent 100,000GP on it(which I think is BS))? Got a link?). Japaese Motor Sport could get my S13 up to 480hp for $AU10,000. 600hp would only be a bit more.
Again, maybe $3000GBP is alot of money in the UK? |

3,000 pounds isn't that much spent on modding the engine imo.
Most people get the full exhaust and induction (say blitz Nur spec and FMIC + CAI) for about 1100 gbp. A decent turbo...say a GT28RS is about another 1000 and then following electronics and fuel system to go with that comes close to 3000. |
|
|
| Rob |
And he wants 25,000GBP for it?
For stats like
BHP 532.6@hubs @28psi
Torque 484lb/ft
0-60 3.56sec
Qtr Mile 11.4@ 129mph +7 IGN ADV
That really is a rip off(well in Australia anyway)
Funny how buying a near stock s13 is so cheap there, yet modding one is so ing expensive. For that price you would be running flat 9's here.
http://www.fullboost.com.au/records.php?class=6
9 second flat quarter miles with a STREET SR20DET with the biggest turbo money can buy. |
|
|
| dj_mdma |
ah but remember our S13 have the CA18DET :p
Richies Quarter mile time isn't fantastic, because there is barely any traction in that car :( and he knows his launching technique is rusty :toothless
The DEVLSH S14 is a true beasty :D |
|
|
| Rob |
| I didn't know your S13's had the CA18DET's ONLY in them. Don't you get SR20DDET S13's? Or is that only with conversions? |
