Yay to Verndogs, a NiteOwl from NYC, crossing into TXTA land.
I went to NYC for the weekend, but unfortunately was sick & managed to evade all cool shows.
On another topic--has 2401 in Houston not been booking anyone, or have the Houston people not been posting the shows here? |

I fly from Austin>>Houston>>Philly. (delayed one hour)
Take the regional train from the Philly airport to the train station. Take the train up to NYC (delayed 2 hours).
Despite all that, show up at midnight at Crobar, prepaid ticket in hand to see UNKLE. Show is way oversold (I think cause they let in 18+...argh). Wait outside in 25 degree weather for an hour. Nobody is being let in who doesn't know the owners, as they are at capacity. super sad. super, super, super sad.
We leave.

Oh that blows! You seriously should have called me. My good friend that I went to school with is a big promoter there. Chances are he was either at that concert or you were a phone call away from getting in. I have a blast whenever we go anywhere in NYC because he always gets us in free, no line, no cover and usually a bottle waiting for us in the VIP. He's fun to roll with. Well, maybe next time. |

ah...man...now you tell me. Mental Note: get the hookup from Dirk.
I was actually on the bradleyrose guest list, which the NYTA's tipped me off to--it was a no-go at the door.
Everyone in line was bitching big time--noone bitches like New Yorkers. I had fun listening to the accents. That part was amusing.
It made me miss low-key Texas shows, where not enough people like electronic to have mob scenes like that. |
