oh whatever come on

you telling me, you don't have one mp3 on your system?

because if you just have 1, your just as bad as someoen who has 2000, so stop this oh he deserved it, or FINE HIM MORE.

because if you have 1 single unpaid for mp3 on your system, youve ripped off an artist and stolen just like he has

end of story guys

i think its more the case he was playing the stuff out

theres a MAJOR difference between playing it out & having one on your desktop for personal use.

the fact about having mp3s on my computer has NOTHING to do with the matter, the fact is that you have to pay for the records (exceptions: promos & selfmade tracks) that you spin with, otherwise you are getting paid for spinning with tracks that you don't physicly own.

as a dj, you spin the records you have required

Even though I think 1.4 is abit high unless he made LOADS of money from them, this is good I think, I'm glad this has happened and will hopefully set an example and will hopefully stop some people from doing it, I will admit I've downloaded my fair share in the past, but I don't anymore, only remixes from TAs and tracks that friends have made, if I wanna hear a track I use Chemical Records or one of the others for a clip, when it comes to mixing I would never even think of using material I don't own, its stealing from the people who help make this scene great, one thing does get me, is how they are able to prove there illegal, cos say I buy an MP3 burn it to CD then goto the club to spin, how the hell would I prove to them its legal?, has anybody here that has bought mp3s got anything like an electronic receipt or maybe sent something in the mail?

yeah cant agree with u more man i mean have my fair share to mp3s and i know its wrong but the solo purpose is so that i can listen to it and eventually buy it on vinyl. Never Use CDRs to dj dont even own CDJs. He got what he deserved. Fuken loser btw i think they can trace a download and if its bought it can be told but i don know how they do it my teacher told me but i forgot. The File itself gets bigger evertime its downloaded or uploaded and it attaches the person who uploaded it or dled it... I think thats how it worx but not entirly sure
Digital Aura
makes sense...

that amount would only be imposed on an internationally acclaimed [RICH] DJ...

I dont think the amount is too steep if its a big DJ. And then the point becomes this:

If he can afford to pay such a fine then why the heck wouldnt you just BUY the friggin music you spin?
LucasYork
thats right, the bloke can afford it....so why would he use mp3s?

and sriously, effiel65, god i think millions of people have that on mp3, which didnt pay for it so its not like he hasnt been ripped off im sure!!

also there is no diff between playing out a tune in a club or having it on your computer! either way your ripping the music, without paying for it, they are both crimes.

if u r listening to an mp3 at home, u would of had to pay for that.. so its a crime which u downloaded it. makes no diff if u play it out in a club or not to the artist u ripped off.

get over it and stop trying to make yaself feel better

:D

he was probably mixing with his laptop + traktor or atomix, that's why he got caught :p

oh well, if that's him that explains why the fine is so high...
