Latin American form of music. Mix of salsa, marengue, bachata, hip-hop and reggae. Largely native to Puerto Rico.
I'm not Latino, but I have Latin friends so they kinda got me into it. Anyone else listen to this genre? |

I listen to Don Omar, Tego Calderon, Nicky Jam, Daddy Yankee, Zion y Lennox, Trebol Clan and some others.
It is very good party music but my friends are so pissed that its becomiong so mainstream here in the states. That song that you pointed out Orbax, "Gasolina" is gettin' rotation on MTV2 like a year after the album has been out. My friends are like so bitchy about it, and can't stand the idea of it becoming a fad in the states. I kinda understand them, i would feel weird if my native music or musical style became popular in another country whose culture is totally opposite. |

I agree, the beat is kinda cool, but ugh, the whole song still sounds like it was produced by someone who has no idea. And the lyrics...:nervous:
Isn't it originally from the Dominican Republic though?
It's good at parties though, I give them that... |
