i'm serious. this is a disgusting form of music. granted, to most it's just something fun to play as you can't understand the lyrics and it's not very common in your respective countries, but trust me, once this thing gets popular, and there is an actual subculture formed around it, you notice just how sickening it truly is.
again, not one to hate styles, i guess you could somewhat make decent "reggaeton" (a genre title which lacks any logic whatsoever, as contrary to popular belief, it is not a blend of latin music, it is rather just a repetitive slow breakbeat, with a latin rapper-style vocalist, making it basically a latinization of bland hip-hop), but for the most part, it is all the same.
it is latin america's response to hip hop, as originally it was a freestyle type form of music, where rappers would spit rhymes about society, being the modern day urban critics of current social situations, but now it's basically bull about hoes with big asses, drugs and gangs.
me and my friends got into edm heavily, aside from loving it so much, to be able to escape this music too. ah well. :( |

completely agree w/ Inertia.
some of the lyrics are just as bad as hip-hop. e hip-hop is so overdone that they have to come up w/ new words just to be able to rhyme.

i cringe everytime i hear it back home.
my x loves it
so do a lot of my friends cept the hardcore kool kats that stuck to their roots like me- mainly 90's alternative, reggae, and edm.
Gzus- if i hear one more ty song that makes no sense and has 20 bagillion sexual references in it.......im going to hire a hitman to wipe out the whole reggaeton population.
