Have just been to pick them up, where the same fit audiologist showed me how to put them in properly. I did contemplate dropping one on the floor by accident so she would bend over and pick them up, but i thought that was a tad too obvious ;)

Anyway- here is what i have (-15dB filters):

-Leather case
-Soft case
-Plugs (blue mark for left, red for right)
-Wax pick to keep them clean
-Manual/contact details
There was supposed to be some lubricant:stongue: too in case you have tight ears, but that was misplaced

And here is what they look like when they are in... they dont stick out at all:

Right, i have had these for about an hour now, so here are my very first impressions.

Fit- they are soo comfortable. Once they are in, that is it- they dont move, fall out, come loose or anything like that. After a few minutes you honestly forget you are wearing them. Big thumbs up for that.
Other plugs tend to touch the headphones, or you can at least feel them there- not these at all.

Sound- im sat here with them in, and i can hear the birds ( of the feathered variety) outside my window. That doesnt happen with normal plugs. I can hear people speaking with them in just fine too, and the tv and every part of the music playing on the stereo.
Its exactly as they said- same frequency response, just quieter.Like i say, very easy to forget you have them in.....

Mixing- Ive only just had a first test with them doing this.
First off- if you only mix at home and dont ever set foot in clubs, these possibly arent for you. 15dB is quite a drop in sound, and i suspect you will only start to notice it in very loud environments. In other words, on a quieter (home) system, you will have to crank it up to ridiculous levels to compensate for the -15db attenuation you are hearing.

I did a mix, cranked up my monitor to what it would be (note- on my monitor DIAL, so doing a visual comparison) and did a mix. Noticably quieter, as were my headphones, but still clear.

Then i took them out- :eyes: The difference was amazing. they cut out so much of the harshness of the sound, and an immense amount of volume, yet still allow the clarity to come through as if you didnt have anything in your ears at all.
Its like the whole world is exactly the same- only quieter. Your own voice is very slightly boomy, but probably 5% of how boomy it is with normal plugs. This is simply because you have something physically in your ear and cannot be avoided.

I expect they will come into their own at work- where i have to have monitors cranked loud to compensate for loud systems... i will of course post when i have used them at work this week and give my analysis.

More soon...

Also, how much did they cost you?

164.50 including moulds and filters. Filters are changed free of charge within the first month if they attenuate too much/too little.
