It all started back in '92.
The Prodigy,2 Unlimited and Orbital got me started.
Never looked back ever since.

I have liked dance music since '95.
There was a time where I heard Gina G, Alexia,
and other dance hits. That was back in 98.

In '99 and 2000, I got my first taste of trance and house.
Darude - Sandstorm
S&M Trax - Got the Groove
DJ Tiesto feat. Delirium - Silence (Tiesto's ISOS Remix)

I even started listening to Happy Hardcore.

But I was stuck in the pop scene for the next three years.

Back to TOPIC...

2001: Heard the word trance for first time
Heard samples of Rank 1, Tiesto and Push
Heard Roger Goode - In the Beginning and some more house.

I still considered it techno back then up through 02.

2003: Listened to CHEESE :o

Dee Dee - Forever
Vengaboys - Kiss When the Sun Don't Shine (Airscape remix)

Then in October of 03, I discovered TA.

Trance was officially in my blood. :D

The first song I downloaded was Basic Dawn - Pure Thrust(Nu-NRG)
The first live set was PVD @Energy 03

Today, I listen to trance, house, hardstyle, progressive almost every day. Get to hear old tunes that I never in my dreams would ever hear.

I owe it all to the ENTIRE Trance Addict community

Thank you so much! :) :)

the first dance song i ever listened to (that wasn't the euro cheese of the early 90s) was 'robert miles - children' that was a masterpiece of its time (1995 i'm pretty sure) it just blew me away, and at the time when everything was extermely mainstream, we all just referred to it as the song without words. as time went on that all faded as an afterthought as i got into rock, and by around 2000. i started listen to daft punk and crystal method. i still liked rock more, but would put on their album as i was experimenting with the new genre.

my first offical trance mix (if you can even call it that lol) was in decemeber of 2000 and it had songs such as darude - sandstorm (at this time, i absolutely adored this song, hadn't been ruined yet), storm - time to burn, fragma - miracle, atb - 9pm. etc. all of this stuff definately served as great gate way music into trance. by my third mix (in july 2001) i started incorporating more 'real' trance such as my long time favorite dumonde - never look back, collusion - conspiracy, system f - exhale, kai tracid - too many times. by this point i started finding more sources, and i finally found my favorite group above & beyond in late 2001 with about 7 of there amazing remixes at the time. by volume 6 at the end of 2001, i finally started learning how to mix, as i didn't want to be listening to 7-9minutes songs all the time. and by 2002 i was well on my way to saying trance was my #1.

btw. i'm at volume #27 now :D (and thats just trance...i have quite a few for house, techno, prog, and a few other genres)

Listening to Lasgo - Something on the radio while I was working out. My taste has evolved from eurocheese to primitive trance to psy/proggy trance hehe.

Heard the mp3 of "Home at Space" in Ibiza which was, of course, part of Oakie's '99 EM World Tour. I was hooked from then on.

I first got into EDM back in 1988 (10 years old at the time) when I heard Bomb the Bass's "Beat Dis" for the first time. They played stuff like that on this collage radio station that was active for a few years and introduced me to the world of EDM with stuff like Adamski's "N-R-G", LFO's "LFO", Technotronic's "Pump Up The Jam" and (of course) Snap!'s "The Power". In 1991, when the hardcore/rave scene started, I knew I was addicted for life.

I havent been into trance that long. It was about 2 years ago when I lived with one of my friends that was a hardcore raver and big into the genre. I had grown tired of the rap and hip hop. He told me to download ISOS 2 and to see what I thought. I loved it. Ever since then I have really been into Trance.

I was able to see Tiesto when he came to Seattle and it was sick. It was kinda like everything had come full circle.

Tranceaddict.com also had alot to do with it. I have been coming to this site ever since the begining and didnt sign up for an account until this year.

When I was 7 years old (1990), Phillips had "Pump up the Jam" as the background music of one of their adverts :D

Was one of the first tracks I heard when I got into dance music actually.

I basially got into it by listening to occasional cheesy tuens that appeared on the charts and just listening to various remixes of pop tracks. I was also into bands like Depeche Mode, Soft Cell and New Order so that really gave me an apetite for electronic sounds.
