The only problem I see with the hyphen approach is the mega long names...

I'm glad my full name isn't so bad, I know some porkchops with two middle names (lol)

I'm a porkchop but only have one middle name. I think that's plenty!

heres a question for you...what do you do when your name and the girls name are absolutely horrible and you don't want to use either :stongue: but don't want to be disrespectful to the family.

Not a chance in hell i would keep my last name. I know too well what it's like to have to learn how to write a last name thats takes up half the friggin letters of the alphabet!
Although, in Belgium, i believe women must retain their maiden name. Sucks!

My kids would have my husband's name i believe. My grandkids would have... whatever their parents chose! :D

Yeah. I'd be pretty upset if she wanted to hyphenate it or something. It's like it isn't good enough for her. that noise.

I agree. :D

As for my wife's last name, I'd rather she took mine so my parents don't throw a fit. But I have no problems with her hyphenating as long as the kids have my last name.
