Should all clubs in US be 18 to enter, 21 to drink?

When I was underage I felt like they should, but now that I'm 21 I feel it would ruin the atmosphere with a bunch of underagers running around and such...
What's your guys' take on this. |

| No, because it would be that much harder to control who gets the alcohol. Sure 21+ are the only ones to buy, but it would make it that much easier for the 21+ to buy for the 21-. |

funny how you term the underaged as running around. hehe.
it does kill the atmosphere, ive been to both 18+ and 21+ places when I was both under aged and of age. there seemed to be more fights and crap occuring at the 18+ events.
but who knows. |

i think everyone should undergo extreme psychological investigation and should have to pass numerous tests before they are allowed to drink. there should be a board of directors who basically vote whether someone is sane and mature enough to handle the effects of such a substance. after all the tests are passed with flying colors, the individual will be admitted to something similar to a driving test, but for booze. they will be forced to get drunk then have their actions studied by the board of directors, in several different situations.
then after you pass all the tests, you are granted your "drinking license". people with a history of alcoholism in their family will be given a "probational" license.
this would solve the issue of 18+ to enter, 21+ to drink. you'd have drinking clubs, and non-drinking clubs.
then again... this is only a rough draft of one of my many ideas if i were to rule the world.
thing is, i've seen 15 year old girls handle their alcohol better than a 32 year old man. :p |

| well...all i know is that i wouldn't really want a bunch of underaged kids around me at a bar when i'm trying to get my swurve on...so i see why people don't like them at the clubs too. |

we had such a huge discussion about this in ny
the 21+ had the feeling that the 18-20 crowd felt like they had something to prove while there, that they belong. it got a bit annoying... the 18s thought they could be well behaved. and for the most part, they add to the scene. it's the few that act stupid and rowdy that just ruin it for everyone. happens in all kinds of situations if you ask me. i'm all for 21+ clubs. |

I think it will cause a mess & most likely clubs will not be able to handle who's what age and who's not that age!
everytime there is an all aged event here in toronto, it is SOOOOOOOO disorganized and takes forever to get up to the drinking area!
So I think they should hacve some nights all ages - with no booze served and other events just for those that are 21 years of age!
CHEERS!:tongue2 |

Well if the drinking age in the U.S. was changed to 18 I guess all this would be moot, but oh well.
I'm only 19, and I'd like to be able to go to the 21+ clubs :( But oh well, I know several of my friends that have fake IDs and such, and thats the problem with underage people, we do things like this that put everybody and the clubs at jeopardy, which isn't good. But it doesn't matter, I'm sure most 21+ people (even the people in this thread) have all used fake IDs when they were under 21 too. |
