yes, i have seen it. it's 100% true but it dosn't reflect 10% of the reality - cruelty and tradition.
My GF just got back from Ethiopia, where her crew was filming a project about early marriages which allow old men take 7-9 yo baby- gilrs as their wives. Raw material that i saw today scared me. This is another part of the story.
and Bliss is right, they need medical assistance more then legal. Traditions are a huge stone that can't be moved, even if a whole world will push it. |

2. Nobody rally likes their job because work sux... but i do have fun cause alot of my friends work there and plus i get GOOOD discounts!! |

1) Business Systems Consultant for a bank
2) Most of the time yes, but like ever job its got its downsides. It's nice to work in the US (i'm originally from London), I work in Newport/Jersey City which is ok for me. Pay is pretty decent and I get a fair bit of responsibility designing new internet products and co-lead a small team of java developers. Plus 28 days off a year gives me time to fly home and take a few relaxing vacations.
3) I fancy a career break to go travelling in the next few years but didnt plan anything yet as Im having a ball in this great area at the mo!! |

Na JC is actually a pretty cool place, lots of young people but not as pricey as Hoboken, close to the city. |

1. I own my own company named "Tail Waggers". We are basically a dog-walking, pet-sitting, house-sitting company. Currently expanding to Northeren Fairfield County CT and Westchester County NY. Company has been in business for 12 years.
2. Absolutley love it. I work basically 4 hours day (if that), and enjoy the 6 figure lifestyle. During the summer my favorite client (the former CEO of Xerox) goes away for 3 months and lets me use his enormous beach house on the water with pool/tennis/etc. Many other clients let me use their pools and beach access (many side benefits).
One client in Darien, CT has me take is Ferrari 355 Berlinetta to get serviced at Ferrari of Greenwich when he goes away...and of course i sneak it for that night out, he knows but never said anything..lol =P
Start work at 10am and finish usually by 3pm.
However it can suck when employees up and quit, especially in the winter cus that means i gotta walk their dogs till i find a replacement or distribute them among other employees but they get pissed and i tend to be a cool boss.
And vacation time sucks....very rare can i go away...MAYBE once a year..if that....i dont make my workers work on the weekends and if we have clients who are on vacation and they need our service then i have to do it...but besides that it is awesome.
The freedom i get, the fact i LOVE dogs, the money, and everything else about make me very very very happy with my profession. |

that's very interesting...when will the project be completed?? and what is it for?? and when will it be available?? i still havent seen moolaade myself, but if and when i do im sure it will have a devistatingly educational effect on me...but does the 90% of the cruelty and tradition that you say doesn't appear in the film is, at the very least, implied??

Wow. It's cool to see such a diverse group of people... united under Trance heh. My turn...
1. I'm a data entry clerk for UPS packadges being exported internationally. That basically means I key in all of the information about packadges going from NYC to any world location into the UPS Mainframe computer system. Oh the joy.
2. A small piece of my soul is extinguished for every day I work there. It's in a warehouse environment and since working there I've developed asthma and lung allergies. I work anywhere from 7:30PM 'till 2AM so yeah, lots of coughing all night for me. But...
- It's convenient part time work while I finish up college
- The job is secured by a union so it's next to impossible to get fired.
- I get full private health/medical/vision/dental coverage
- I signed the contract in blood, so my soul belongs to UPS. Hurrah for eternal suffering and damnation.
3. I'm a Psychology major in my last year at CUNY's City College. Once I get my B.A. I'll probably switch to a job in my field of study. I have to apply to graduate school for my Masters in Psych fairly soon. I'm pretty nervous about the whole process I'll have to go through as far as getting into grad school but I'm really excited about finally being able to focus my skills on a particular psychological school of thought/field of stufy. I'd really like to delve more into Cognition and Perception as well as Neuroscience and Psychopathology but I'm definately gonna have to narrow that down for grad school. I'll be in school for at least an additional 4 years after my Masters to get my PhD. The prospect of nearly a decade more of school isn't exactly peaches and cream but being able to touch lives and help people find peace of mind through therapy and counseling; that's what it's really about for me. Oh... did I say "therapy and counseling" ? I meant Prozac... looots of Prozac. :-p Maybe I'll do my dissertation on Trance Addict subculture hehe. :rolleyes: |
