I didn't know it took 6 years? I thought most people study for a doctorate for a year or two. :conf: That sounds cool though. I'd love to have a job as a TA in a French language or lit class or one of the interesting core courses I took my freshman year; maybe when I'm a graduate student I can. :) |

Wow... guess I was a little off. My goal was always a Ph.D... looks like 8 years for me... :p Do you take classes also or do you just do independent study and research? |

most phd programs are structured in a somewhat similar fashion: there's coursework, followed by qualifying exams, and finally your dissertation and the defense of your diss. at the very end. many programs offer the M.A. as a transitionary degree after you've finished your first or second year of work (or your qualifying exams).
the time frame for all these things varies by school, as do additional requirements.
being a TA can be very rewarding (although constructing and teaching your very own course is usually a lot better =) ). |

| I'm a Management Information Systems major at WPI. I like it, it's a good school, ppl are kinda weird, but you find your group of friends to hang out with. Other than that, I have no job, but I do have an internship lined up with Bose Automotive for the summer :D I'd be doing "Multilingual Human Interface Design".:p |

that's very interesting...when will the project be completed?? and what is it for?? and when will it be available?? i still havent seen moolaade myself, but if and when i do im sure it will have a devistatingly educational effect on me...but does the 90% of the cruelty and tradition that you say doesn't appear in the film is, at the very least, implied??
looks tasty...you're do PR for this restaurant?? well obviously youre not doing a good job since i've never heard of it :p |
If you are not interested in a problem of female purification Moolade can bore you. Everything that you see is the truth but there is no action. it's very mellow with some rough episodes.
My gf works for independant film company and they didn't raise enough money to finish the movie but enough to go to Ethiopia and make this footage. I saw "what it is" without any notes and subtitles, but even this little can scare. As i know HBO was interested in buying this footage so most likely it will appear on one of their channels. Hopefully soon.
and no, I'm not doing PR for Le Bernardin. Hahaha, we don't need PR, my bosses maybe because we post press releases a lot but as I said I'm an event planner-party consultant. And I'm booked for 2 years in advance already. |

I teach math in a public high school in astoria.
Umm since this is my first year its been extremely stressful and not so much rewarding as of yet. The worst thing about this job is seeing kids who have so much potential, sit in class day in and day out putting in 0% effort. If they come in with the mentality that they don't care and they put in no effort, then there is only so much I can do to help them.
But on the upside, I see myself sticking this out. No matter how stressed out I am or what kind of day I've been having the kids always seem to make me laugh. I do enjoy it overall. :) |
