OK... so 2 days until the grand opening and we're still completely in the dark as to who is spinning and when. What is this? In the events listing we're told there will be "commercial hits" as well as RnB ad old-skool in the Vision room. YAY! Just what we here at TA all love! "Commercial Hits" and R&B! Oh yeah, the doors open at 10pm... nothing new there. But what the hell are "Commercial Hits"? Does that mean that until 2am, we have to listen to the generic radio-club hits we get to jive to while listening to Z103.5 all day? JayX1 has said it'll be House in the main room until 2am then it will get harder... but so far this has not been confirmed by any of the guys running around promoting their club here on TA.
Wait, it gets better. We're then told that "After the Vote" (Which I've discovered is just the name of their after-hours segment 2am-7am) the music will get harder. SWEET! But what exactly does that mean? Instead of Commercial Hits we now get to listen to hard-rock? :rolleyes: Now it's easy to assume that means the EDM we all know and love, but who the hell is spinning? What's the DJ lineup? What's the cover charge? Where's the guest-list info?
And just the cherry to finish off this wonderful rant... a DRESS-CODE! Now, I have no real problem with a dress-code, except that I only own a pair of runners, and a pair of hiking boots. I'm not going to a club in hiking boots, and I'm not going to go out and spend my hard-earned money on a new pair of shoes just so I can goto some club that won't even tell us the cover charge in their flyers or who's spinning on the GRAND OPENING night!
Oh wait, I forgot... these issues have ALL been brought up already, and other than JayX1 piping up to explain that the dress-code is more or less a "Don't look like a bum or thug, and don't wear runners" deal, NONE of the above questions have been answered, even though they're asked 50 times in every thread concerning Republik.
This club looks so promising (OMG the LIGHTS!), and we've been told the owners and management are Club fans themselves. I WANT to want to check this place out on Saturday, but I'm finding it very hard to convince myself to go when I don't even know who's spinning and the cover charge, nevermind when their spinning or the guest-list info.
Can we get some answers? |

| Not bitter, and I'm not alone in these thoughts. These questions have all been asked a million times in EVERY thread concerning Republik and have never recieved an answer. I jump into the events forum today and figure "FINALLY the official post with all the info I've been waiting for!" and STILL none of the questions are answered. The cover-charge isn't even on the flyer! |

You can basically go by everything i have posted here. It will be house until 2 and trance,techno and more underground stuff afterwards. The small room (vision) will have rnb hip hop till 2 and house afterwards. (much like the orange room at guv)
If you need any information you can email management at [email protected] and I am sure they will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Residents will be lil pete, walter rosati and peter ivals. The guests and dates have been posted in the other thread.

ive always thought that was the biggest joke in the world. how do you expect people to dance for 5+ hours in dress shoes?
My back and legs kill from walking around in them, let alone busting a groove for hours upon hours.

Hello starsearcher.
You could start off by re-reading my post and discovering that I'm talking about the GRAND OPENING advertisement.
Then you could re-read my Dress-Code complaint and you'll discover that I'm refusing to get a decent pair of shoes just to goto a club that WON'T EVEN TELL US THE COVER CHARGE! If I knew who was spinning and how much the night was costing me, I'd be much more inclined to do so, nowhere in my post do I ask that they change their policy (that's you putting words in my mouth), in fact I distinctly stated that I have no problem with a Dress-Code except that I don't have the shoes to cover it according to the site, and I'm not abbout to get shoes right away for a club I know nothing about (despite the 100+ times these SAME questions have been asked) when I can goto the Guvernment for 15 bucks and catch Mauro Picotto and Mark Oliver in my runners. And get the new shoes later for j00f or Johan. |

no point in going somewhere if i cant be comfortable.
not that i'd be wearing baggy jogging pants and 2 backwards hats...
