U2 were formed in the late 70s. Punk came into existence almost 20 years earlier in the early 60s. Hell, even the Sex Pistols came before U2. U2 have absolutely nothing to do with punk whatsoever. |

My point is this.
Punk, not Eddie Cochran style rather the Ramones/Sex Pistols version came to fruition early 1977. One of the tenants of the movement was the anti-rock star reaction to what was going on at the time. U2 released their first cd in 1980 on the backs of the punk movement.
My point was saturated in pseudo sarcasm. |
