I just went to the Oakenfold show at Premier in Seattle and just realized why EDM is dead. :whip:
Sandra Collins was before Oakey and she was great, but the croud was so f'ing lame they kinda stood in confusion as she played Kosmas Epsilon - Innocent Thoughts, which is an awesome ethereal tune, but the croud was too antsy and didn't appreciate..
Then the Oak came on and he was ok for a while until he played Tiesto - Traffic and Yilmaz Altanhan - Eighties.. twice! I realized he had comepletely lost any originality he had but the crowd just ate it up. :rolleyes:
Oh well, I guess thats what I get for hopeing Oakey would pull a miracle and remind me why he was a trance god. I'm going to Vancouver to see James Holden and hopefully that will revive my clubbing enthusiasm.

The EDM scene in the Midwest is growing, as mentioned, the knowledge of specifice edm tracks and genres is unknown to the common person. Though the midwest has alot of great talent locally, and guests: Liebing, Beyer, Lekebusch(canceled sadly), and Ferry, just to name a few. |
